In reply to the discussion: I don't see Biden as being a very strong candidate against Trump. [View all]herding cats
(20,046 posts)Pete Buttigieg's someone I've respected for longer than most here knew he existed. You can do the searches, I've been talking about him at DU since before Trump was elected. In a perfect world he'd be a "dream" candidate of mine right now. Initially I loved how intellectual he is and his policy stances are strong.
He's not at this time because I only care about winning and he's not the man for that job. First of all, I learned since my first interest in him, he can't bring home our African American voters. We lose without them. That's fully on him. I can assure you he was only brought to my eyes because he had aspirations for the presidency. Yet, he's made foolish mistakes which are documented since 2002 and hasn't made them any better over the years in that department, I'm sorry to say. It's been an achilles heel of his primary campaign. It's a deal ended for me.
Also, wether you realize it or not, Biden is currently considered the most liked and personable candidate in our field. Granted, that's subject to change, but it's what it is at this moment, and I'm living in the moment as to my support. All I care about is getting an actually electable candidate nominated. But, you do you.
I still like Buttigieg, I just don't see him as out best pick this cycle. My second is currently Warren, then Klobuchar and then him. But, that's just my rankings. Which are always subject to change.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
