In reply to the discussion: Can anyone explain why Elizabeth Warren isn't doing better? [View all]frazzled
(18,402 posts)50. Yes, fear of misogyny probably a big factor
If media reports from Iowa and New Hampshire can be believed (and I would add to those anecdotal accounts of the decisions and indecisions of friends and family), people are desperate to determine the candidate they think can win (read: defeat Trump). Policies and everything else aside.
I do think the "woman can't win" fear factor injected by Sanders has landed squarely on her head. Add to that the rather male dominated demographics of the further left (all the candidates are "left" ), people in that camp have headed for the pater familias.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

She got swiftboated. Her presumed strength - I've got a plan for that - was turned into her weakness

What I don't understand is the Bernie surge. I'm old and never heard of him until 2016

I can only say why I don't support her. She's not a lot different from Sanders, too many promises

Personality. If she had Amy's personality she'd be running away with the nomination
