Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Can anyone explain why Elizabeth Warren isn't doing better? [View all]MoonlitKnight
(1,585 posts)Warren is a stickler for details and studies and empirical evidence. She read the studies that have been consistent for decades that single payer is the most cost effective choice and covers the most people. It isnt socialist or radical.
Thank you for Obamacare. But it was the Republican plan for decades. And the reason Democrats fought it since Nixon was because we knew the very problems that are being complained about now were known flaws. Single payer beats the crap out of any other plan. Anything short of that is actually the more expensive option.
Throw in people like Chris Matthews equating socialism with communism and you stir up the Bernie fears. Those fears spill over to the candidate perceived as next closest on the political spectrum.
Warren also seems to get the tougher questions. Like the CNN town halls, Biden did great but also filibustered so he had far less questions. Yang was tossed softballs the whole time. Warren got tough audience questions and difficult follow ups by Bothsider Cuomo.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
