6. You don't pay taxes when your stocks increase in value, you pay when you sell them

Until they sell them they're just baseball cards. They've been getting dividends, which they've paid taxes on.

In general you pay taxes on money you've received, not on the potential to receive money, and stocks are just the potential to receive money, not money.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
