Congratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!
Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: here's the thing about bloomie that may just win me over. [View all]calguy
(5,304 posts)9. I'm thinking he might want to be a one term president
He may be running out of a sense of duty to save the country. Looked at the field of Dem candidates, didn't, in his estimation, see anyone who had what it takes to defeat trump. Whether or not that's true is beside the point, it's what he himself saw. He figures he is one of the few with the resources to take trump head on. If he really wanted to be president he would have gotten in much sooner.
If he wins I wouldn't be surprised to see him serve one honorable term to heal and repair some if trump's damage, then get out and let the system tight itself without trump around. Trump might actually end up in prison if a Pres Bloomberg decided to go after his criminal ass.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

Then let's put him in charge of the DNC maybe, but the OPs observation IS a pretty good argument...

There's no reason to suspect Bloomberg is more electable than the other candidates.

He might be really looking out for himself, but that will just mean he's a smart billionaire.

I'll vote for Biden if he's our nominee. I'll vote against trump if Bloomberg is.

I expected Nutter to support Bloomberg. My guess is Corey Booker is silently in his corner.

Maybe. Or maybe he'll like it so much he'll demand more terms like he did in NY.
