I will answer your question "WHAT IN THIS UNIVERSE MAKES YOU THINK THIS COUNTRY - AS A WHOLE ELECTORATE - WANTS A SOCIALIST FOR PRESIDENT."

1. Most people want "Universal Healthcare" or "Medicare For All"
2. They want a fair tax system where those like the person you support pays their dues and don't get the "socialist" breaks they get today/.
3. Because USA citizens want corporations to pay their taxes and stop the subsidies they don't need and only use to pay their CEO extravagant bonuses. If you didn't create a company you don't deserve a $400 million bonus.
4. Because people are tired of republican governments trying to screw up our education, we know republicans "love their uneducated", they are easy to manipulate. Most citizens want free education, they understand that an educated people cannot be manipulated.
5. Because they want a government that works for all.
