(923 posts)DU lately, someone is point blank screaming about Bernie Sanders and/or socialists in general.
Maybe it's like some of the posters above are saying and it's because I'm a mid-Millennial. When I was a kid we learned about the Red Scare and got to watch some old propaganda about the dangers of communism and I had figured that it was all history. When I grew older, I realized that some people still had those feelings because they had grown up with it. But here we are almost 20 years later and some folks are still at caps lock levels of fear towards socialism--it's unnerving and does not in any way convince me to their way of thinking. The level of intensity when people are yelling about "SOCIALISTS" is problematic for our overall image as Democrats. Ironically, for the same reasons that Sanders himself can be. Democrats do not want to project the image of "Old Man Yells at Cloud."
There is a primary process, it will do what it is meant to do.
Edited to correct: I flattered myself and wrote "10 years later" HA. 20.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
