(45,806 posts)gotten used to in the US with health care. My son who lived in Italy for almost 20 years points this out all the time. There are very few, if any, private rooms in their hospitals. They are all 2-3 patients per room. I know that doesn't sound like a big deal, but the hospital costs are BIG! He spoke from experience too. He had an accident o his motorcycle and broke his kneecap. It wasn't a bad experience from the patiets point of view, but some here in the States would scream, just because it's bee that way for a long time. Not always. When I was about 12 my grandmother went into the hospital & there were 2 other patients in her room. They had semi-private rooms & they also had wards where there might be 8+ patients. My dad always said the wards were where you went when you had no insurance. I wouldn't have a problem having 2-3 to a room. There would be someone to talk to while you were there, but some Americans would complain because they don't know anything else,
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
