Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Rachel: Is Obama part of the Democratic establishment? Bernie: No [View all]patphil
(9,136 posts)50. Yes, he's running within the Democratic establishment structure as a non-Democrat.
That's what I see as his ultimate limiting factor. He wants to revolutionize the Democratic Party, but hasn't seen fit to join it.
That's why I feel he should drop this whole anti-establishment crap.
The gains he gets from the far-left are outweighed by what he loses from the traditional Democrats in the middle, including most of the black community.
Bernie is polarizing the party with an us vs them message.
A party he doesn't even belong to.
It's fine to be an independent, but then what is he doing in our primaries?
Come on Bernie!
Declare yourself a Democrat and open up your tent to include all Democrats, not just the far-left.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

So I go to the bottom of responses and say that Bernie has more to do with FDR than most.

Sanders doesn't get to define who any establishment is so the last sentence makes no sense.

Making up one's own definition is not "fact", it's creative, it's imaginative, it's hip...
