Democratic Primaries

(58,785 posts)and the Republicans' lack of primary choice is a perversion and breakdown of democracy on their side. A clear indication of the increasing authoritarian takeover of their party. Think about it: THEY HAVE NO CHOICE.
As for the notion that we on DU should commit to a candidate a year ahead of the first voting begins in other states, when new candidates are still declaring and most of the electorate isn't even paying attention is somehow getting a little carried away. Time to step back and take another look.
One thing you should notice is that almost all agree on all the big issues, just adopt somewhat different methods and priorities to distinguish themselves. We ARE united. And a couple whose identities are based on despising and not agreeing also share the same general goals. (!)
And pace yourself, U. It's going to be a long, bumpy ride, but the best thing about it is all the good democratic choices we have.
