(95,247 posts)The sort of left factions Sanders represents, by their resolve to demonstrate they cannot be relied on in a general election, force the Party to campaign more towards the center, and even the right, in hopes of making up for the strength these left factions are always willing to subtract from the Party's total, for reasons which are, put bluntly, mostly naive moonshine.
To proclaim 'you can't count on me if you don't tickle me just right' is, to put it at its mildest, a self-defeating strategy.
"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."
