(9,323 posts)started a charitable organization, so he didn't have to divide his efforts between campaigning and raising money? Wouldn't it be wonderful if his charitable organization were run by accomplished humanitarians rather than salaried political operatives? Wouldn't it be wonderful if he allowed you to make contributions to organizations of YOUR choice rather than HIS choice?
I posted this before:
Imagine Trump raising money for charities of his choice as part of his re-election campaign. Like gun-rights groups and anti-abortion groups, and, yes, meals on wheels thrown in the mix. They are all affected by the health crisis, and they are not exactly well off financially. Oh, and most of them are working people, who just happen to be Trump's political base. I am fine with raising money for charities. I am fine with raising money for a presidential campaign (well, sort of). But I am not fine with mixing the two together. Smacks of cheating, somehow.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
