(393 posts)Too early to pick one candidate. While I supported Bernie in the 2016 primary and HRC in the general, I want to hear from all the candidates. I so wish we could take the best of each and mold them into one. From what I've seen and learned, all great people.
Kamala - razor sharp mind. Think she will do well in debates. My current senator. I supported her for AG and then in her senate run.
Cory - Such charm and probably the most polished speaker of the bunch. He also has a great life narrative.
Elizabeth - When she does interviews, she is so in the zone. Very empathetic and facts just come so easily to her. Town Halls is where I think she'll shine.
Bernie - Commitment to the Revolution. Compassion and belief in his platform for economic justice. I think people like his unpolished demeanor, very easy to relate to. And nobody draws in the millennials like Bernie. He will need to expand his focus to round out his appeal.
Amy - From the little I've seen of her, she is very mid-western nice and honest. I don't really care for her platform but there is a quiet honesty about her that is just there under everything she says.
Tulsi - Life experiences have molded her into the person she is and she is a fantastic person today. From my home state, she exudes honesty and the spirit of Aloha - a wholehearted welcome and let's get to know each other. Don't know if that will translate to non-Hawaii people. I think she is the most open minded of the candidates, meaning she has her core principals, but willing to hear other ideas and perhaps adopt them if they are better. This is just a feeling I get from her, one local to another.
Richard (Ojeda) - Wow. Not sure he's even still in the race. But I like his brashness and combative spirit. I take it he doesn't suffer fools lightly. Glad he's on our team. I would love to see him take on Trump. I'd pay money for that. They should make him DNC chair or spokesman.
Julian - Haven't seen him since the Democratic Convention all those years ago. I'm sure he's matured a lot since then, but he was so fresh and eager and made me happy and proud to know that the younger generation was so well represented. Got to catch up with him to figure him out.
Beto - Not in the race yet, but what charisma and charm. Surely he must be the successor to Bill and Barrack in the charm/charisma department. And we should NEVER underestimate this gift in politics.
Joe - Loved him as VP and I voted him in one of the primaries in the 80s/90s. 88 I think after Jerry Brown dropped out. 2020 might be his swan song, but not sure he's up to the race. It's a grueling journey and after all he's been through, maybe he'll retire unblemished as Obama's VP. He has some skeletons/demons from the past that sunk him in his other runs and I'm sure they will resurface. But after Trump, maybe it won't even matter.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
