(146,314 posts)It's a symbolic thing that can be identified with the campaign. That's why. However, logo design is always a compromise between the graphics team and whoever is paying. Since I deal with websites all the time, I often get asked about brand logos for the companies who are my clients. My real answer is always: It doesn't really matter all that much. The answer I provide to the client is based on the client's opinion of the logo, really. If the client likes it, it's fine with me. I'm a words guy, not a graphics guy.
If I need a logo, I design my own. I know it doesn't matter, so I just do it. I keep it simple, use spectral colors, and make it as symmetrical as I can. I design logos in Word or Windows Paint. Same thing with book cover art. If I need a book cover, I open Paint, size a blank box the size of the cover after calculating the number of pixels I need and then pick some art, choose a font and color and put it where I think it should be. If I want some sort of background effect, I use another Windows tool and pick something.
Takes about 10 minutes to do any of those things. I don't have an art department. I get to decide, so I make it look however I want it to look. In the end, it doesn't matter all that much, really. Here's the cover for my most recent book. 10 minutes, including creating the word cloud online. Like it? No? It doesn't matter. People are buying it, so...
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
