I strongly disagree on the reasons. Both the Old and New Testaments have multiple passages about how righteous folk should treat children, the poor and immigrants and both the secular MAGA types and their Fundie buddies’ legislation and policy initiatives run counter to what is repeatedly and expressly written in the Bible.

I’m a believer and I suspect that the Big Guy (No, not what’s-his-name from Mar a Lago!) has noticed. And He’s pissed off.
