Joseph Garrett Duggar arrested for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay County Sheriff’s Office said Joseph Garrett Duggar, 31, who appeared on the TV show “19 Kids and Counting,” was arrested Wednesday for crimes against a minor that allegedly occurred in Panama City Beach.
BCSO said Duggar has been charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, including molestation of a victim younger than 12, and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 or older.
We’re told Bay County investigators were contacted Wednesday by a Tontitown police detective about a report of past sexual abuse. The 14-year-old victim, during a forensic interview, disclosed what happened with Duggar during a family vacation in Panama City Beach when she was 9, BCSO says.
According to the investigation, the events happened when the family was staying at a home on Danny Drive.

Members from the Writers Guild of America-backed union have been unable to reach agreements on raises, defined schedules and severance amid Weiss' vow to 'reimagine' the streaming service.
It marks the first time Weiss has had to negotiate with a union, as The Free Press, the 'anti-woke' outlet she cofounded and still runs, is not unionized.
It is also the latest blow for Weiss during her rocky tenure at CBS which has already seen an exodus of top talent and scrutiny of its coverage.
'Members are fighting to protect their livelihoods during a period of uncertainty in broadcast news,' Writers Guild of America Representative Tina Timmerberg told 48 Hills.
'Layoffs, editorial interference and political pressure have all become existential threats following the Paramount Skydance merger and those same concerns have escalated with a possible merger of Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros Discovery.

The U.S. Is So Over World Peace It Erased the Olive Branch from the Dime
Since 1946, every U.S. dime has been the same, with Franklin D. Roosevelt on the head and a torch centered between an oak branch and an olive branch—the international symbol of peace and diplomacy—on the back. But in the nation’s latest move to shrug off peace or diplomacy of any kind, within the world, with its states, or with its own citizens, we’ve apparently decided we don’t need a pesky olive branch anymore!
In one of the dumbest, most needless aesthetic decisions to come out of Trump’s anti-DEI crusade, the nation’s newest dime replaces the torch with a bald eagle holding arrows in its left talon and gets rid of the olive branch altogether. The design was announced with little fanfare in December, and has been circulating since the beginning of the year—which I hadn’t noticed until reading this op-ed in Fortune on Thursday.
Dropping the olive branch from the dime isn’t just a design choice: it’s a cultural signal. The Founders spent six years perfecting the balance between peace and war on the Great Seal. Erasing half of that equation, on a coin meant to celebrate their legacy and especially 250 years after they fought for “Liberty over Tyranny,” says something about which half the country currently feels like.
Which is some real nickel-and-dime BS. The U.S. has had the “Great Seal” since 1782, which depicts an eagle holding 13 arrows in one claw and an olive branch in another, with its head deliberately turned towards the branch, as a gesture of its dedication to using diplomatic politics before getting aggressive as a last resort. As Fortune writes, Charles Thomson—a Founding Father and one of the seal’s original designers, who died in 1824—said the head positioning was deliberate, and a direct nod to the Olive Branch Petition, when Congress made its independence-winning appeal to Britain in 1775.

How should Africa be governed? First, it has to be re-governed. First, you know, the anarchy has to be eliminated, there has to be...Imagine a futurist Africa, Africa in 2100 and there’s a computer...that knows how many Africans there are, down to a single digit, where they are in terms of position—just the way, you know, if you’re, like, a rancher in Wyoming, you know where all your cattle are thanks to modern whatever—you know where all these people are, you know what they’re doing and your goal is for them to thrive as human beings without breeding too much. Like, you know, what a vision right? You know, like, imagine restoring order to South Africa. You don’t need to make South Africa all white to restore order to South Africa. You just need governance.
(Note: The YouTube transcript says “without breathing too much,” but I believe Yarvin actually says “breeding,” which makes more sense in this context. In any case, it’s a distinction without a difference.)
The racism is in-your-face and designed to provoke outrage. But notice the tech fascist structure underneath it: Africans compared to cattle, their movements tracked by computer, their reproduction managed by an external authority. Their human dignity and sovereignty dissolved into what Yarvin blandly describes as “governance.” It’s a fascist colonial fantasy—Yarvin calls it “neocolonialism”—in its purest, most technocratic form.
The Die Zeit piece captures him weeping at the spa in Bavaria, swirling wine in a glass, ordering multiple rounds of Scotch on a New York Times reporter’s tab. This is not a new habit. He has bawled in the New Yorker and during podcast interviews. His tears have become more important than his words.
To some degree, Yarvin’s gaudy racist fantasies of fascist surveillance and control over Black people seem like a desperate cry for attention. His image as a serious political influencer has suffered major damage over the past year as multiple journalism profiles have exposed him as a long-winded bore prone to incoherent monologues and wine weeping. He complains that Trump isn’t being authoritarian enough and worries he may need to flee the country if Democrats retake power. Many of his fellow right-wing provocateurs have turned on him, pelting him with online mockery and scorn.
His fifteen minutes of fame seem to be expiring, and so he escalates to prolong the interest. Africans as cattle, Chinese drones in West Oakland—his sci-fi racist taunts sound like something an intellectually precocious middle schooler would think up.
Yet, even in this diminished stage of his celebrity, he keeps finding fans among the billionaire class.

I first heard Bari Weiss’ voice in November 2024, a week after the U.S. presidential election. My friend had sent me an episode of Weiss’ podcast “Honestly,” and as I was doing chores around the house, I popped in my Airpods with some skepticism.
“She makes it clear why Trump got elected,” my friend texted. “Idk, it just makes you feel better.”
As a lifelong progressive, I was wary. And yet, I wanted to feel better, because I felt awful. The conditions were pretty ripe for an escape. Maybe, a pill?
How does one get red-pilled? I’m not sure that’s the right question. I don’t believe anyone “gets” red-pilled. No one is forced to take red pills. We take red pills. The question is why.
Being red-pilled is experiencing an “awakening” that causes an individual to move away from liberal values and adopt conservatism, far-right beliefs, or even conspiracy theories.

DOGE Staffers Used ChatGPT to Cut Holocaust History Grants During Counter-DEI Purges: Lawsuit

The US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) relied on the ChatGPT large language model program when deciding to cut grants for Jewish-related history programs, including one focused on violence against women during the Holocaust, according to a new class-action lawsuit.
DOGE staffer Justin Fox is named as one of the defendants in the suit filed in US federal court on Friday by the Authors Guild, which alleges that he was the one who developed the method of using ChatGPT prompts to determine which grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) — also a defendant — to cut in the name of eliminating any programs related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Fox said in a deposition that he regarded any grant related to a minority group as qualifying as “DEI” and thus up for elimination. When asked about a grant he chose to cancel related to violence against women during the Holocaust, he responded, “It’s a Jewish — specifically focused on Jewish culture and amplifying the marginalized voices of the females in that culture.” Fox added, “It’s inherently related to DEI for that reason.”
