As a way of giving back to the protest community I'm offering my compound for
FREE CAMPING during the 2016 RNC - LIVE FROM CLEVELAND OHIO!
Camping is open beginning SAT July 16th thru SAT July 23rd.
COME AS YOU ARE! Bring yer tents, sleeping bags, other camping gear and CAMPING CHAIRS!
We have spaces for about A DOZEN or so tents! Maybe more if tents are small!
(but only room for 2 vehicles so think 15 passenger vans!)
Bath & restroom facilities available as well as refrigerators
AND nightly Equinox Fire Pit campfires! Cooking over the open fire if you want!
(donations accepted for firewood, etc)

We're East Side only 15 miles from downtown & close to public trans downtown to the "free speech areas".
Open to DUers and their close family & friends making the trip to CLE OH for the 2016 RNC
(no teabaggers please it's a cool laid back atmosphere like Occupy)

Some snips:

• The $600 million spent on replacement power could have funded an opening transition to a renewable economy. Instead, fires, operator error and chronic malfunctions continue to define Davis-Besse’s public-sponsored dotage. Designed in the 1960s and opened in the late 1970s, Davis-Besse threatens the entire Great Lakes region.
• In short, Davis-Besse is being run by owners who believe—with good reason—that they can get away with anything. Perhaps that’s because, should it blow, FirstEnergy is shielded by federal law from virtually all liability for downwind financial, ecological and human health damage, which would be incalculable. So now the company wants the public pay still more billions to keep Davis-Besse operating, no matter the consequences.
• Republican Governor John Kasich’s first act upon taking office in 2011 was to kill a $400 million federal grant meant to restore passenger rail service linking Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Virtually unique among the western world’s capital cities, the last passenger train left Columbus in 1979.
• But as Koch-funded Republicans took control of the state in 2010, Ohio became the first American state to roll back its green power program. Rampant fracking has brought increased seismic activity and destroyed much of the state’s drinking water. Ohio’s ancient coal burners are being propped up with public cash. Its dying nukes—Perry was the first U.S. reactor to be damaged by an earthquake—continue to operate at huge public danger and expense.
• Ohio’s PUC will soon decide on this latest scam to squander still more public money on its cancerous fleet of fossil/nuke dinosaurs. If they cave once again to the corporate interests, you can officially consign the Buckeye State to the radioactive ash heap of failed technological, ecological and economic history.

Go read all of this! We're being taken to the cleaners by FirstEnergy and their ilk with TAXPAYER DOLLARS as their backstop. No insurance company in the world will ensure a nuke plant - see the Price-Anderson Act of 1957, United States The Price-Anderson Act, originally enacted by Congress in 1957, limits the liability of the nuclear industry in the event of a nuclear accident in the United States. At the dawn of the nuclear industry in the USA, no private insurance company willingly underwrote a nuclear power plant fully. The lack of financial security would have hindered the development of the nuclear industry. The federal government intervened with this amendment to the 1946 Atomic Energy Act (AEA). )

We grew up with a Perry "warning" siren directly across the street from our house when Perry was built and went on-line and is there to this day and fires off spook bomb raid sirens on Wednsdays the 3rd week of every month at 10 am MONTHLY since and to this day.
