She was sent home from work after someone she's been training went home with a fever.
She got a fever 3 days later.
Since she doesn't meet the criteria for testing and there's been no documented community spread in Pittsburgh yet, she CANNOT get tested.
I mean - WTF?? How many people have symptoms like hers and can't get tested?
Keep her in your thoughts please. I just want her fever to break.

UPDATE: after waiting in line for awhile at an incredibly busy drive through testing center, testing DENIED.
Reason - she is not short of breath and her 02 sats are 99.
They refused to test her and sent her home.
So much for valuable surveillance data, contact tracing and isolating infected people.
It's everywhere, we just aren't sure who because apparently you have to be severely ill and in need of a respirator or ventilator to get tested.
We are facing a tremendous challenge as a collective.
Unless we all work together we will fail. Slowing down COVID-19 won't be successful if a third of us believe it's a hoax.
The person who COULD bring everyone together to overcome this challenge is the president. At least that's how it should be, how it's been in the past. May be the biggest part of the job.
Instead though, we have Donnie Doom who blatantly and willfully refused to act on this in January and contradicts the experts every time he opens his fucking mouth.
I feel so helpless knowing how bad it may get because the president is leading millions of people on a death march and unfortunately the rest of us will get dragged along with them.
Bottom Line - The genie is out of the bottle.
I don't care what Trump and his lying sycophants say to cover their incompetence, they failed to act to contain COVID-19 in this country.
It's here and this stupid press conference will do nothing to stop it. The genie is out of the bottle.
Breakthrough: Chloroquine phosphate has shown apparent efficacy in treatment of COVID-19
This is exciting! Chloroquine is an old, cheap, and safe drug that's given for malaria.
The Chinese are using it in clinical trials to treat COVID-19 pneumonia in the sickest patients and it appears to be working! Blocks the infection.
If this holds up could be a game changer. 🤞

A week ago, my daughter cut her finger and needed stitches. Went to urgent care clinic.
A week ago, at about the same time of day, there were only two other patients in the waiting room. She was seen in 15 minutes.
Went back today to get the stitches removed. The waiting room was packed with patients wearing masks and she was told it would be at least a 3 hour wait. Made an appointment to go back in the morning BEFORE they open.
She didn't get close to anyone and used a lysol wipe to open the door.
I don't know the reason for the difference in patient volume between last week and today, but I sure am wondering. Also wondering if any of them will be tested.
Vitamin D3/Cholecalciferol
Vitamin D3 is a necessary component of our immune systems, yet our bodies cannot make it. We get it from sunlight, food, and supplements.
Clinical data shows that supplementing with a small daily dose of Vitamin D3 (~400 iu) appears to help the immune system fight off viral infections better, especially during winter months when people are stuck indoors with no sunlight.
I'm not recommending taking a Vitamin D3 supplement, just pointing out it may be of benefit at this time.

BTW - I switched to Bernie tonight. I voted for him in 2016 in the primary and even though he didn't get the nomination, I sure as hell voted for Hillary in the GE.
