Disabled15's JournalLearning to Tweet for Bernie
I hope this is okay to ask.
I have not been involved in social media (Facebook).
I just started to learn Twitter for Bernie. Are a bunch of you also tweeting?
What's the best way to get noticed? I have retweeted things from Bernie's Twitter account without adding my own stuff. Is it better to add a comment when retweeting?
Do you all think this helps his campaign?
I know the past few days it has helped me stay in touch with what Bernie is up to, but I feel like a loner in the woods here.
Am I silly to think it helps spread the word about Bernie? Especially since nobody is following me.
Any advice is welcome.
Thanks a million!
My Weekend with Bernie
My car is covered in Bernie stickers, but I was the only one.
On Friday, I walked outside to see 2 of my neighbors cars had grown new attire--- Bernie stickers! Woohoo!
This weekend, I wore my Bernie shirt around town shopping and everywhere I went, I got compliments. From the lonely worker at a large office supply store who quietly pulled me aside to whisper, "love your shirt."
To the guy with the large family who, in between children's screams, said, "awesome shirt!"
This is in a republican neighborhood and I thought I was being brave to cover my body and car with Bernie's name.
Everyone is feelin the Bern! Yay!
20 minutes to go! Watch at noon!

Bernie smacking down antigay slurs 20 years ago
This just went out to entire queerty email list--great exposure!
In 1995, one year after the Clinton administration enacted Don't Ask, Don't Tell to address and reenforce the ban on openly gay military servicemen and women, then-representative Bernie Sanders of Vermont delivered the following smack-down to then-representative Randall "Duke" Cunningham of California. It's worth a re-watch...

No COLA for 2016!
While my rent went up $100 a month, my disability will not move. This is so depressing and upsetting!
Socialsecurityworks has a petition.
I've been disabled since a child and my benefits have barely moved in all those years.
Please join me in trying to fight this! Write your senators, congressmen, etc. and most of all VOTE! The disabled are not a large group in numbers, so we all have to look out for each other.
Just because we are disabled does not mean we should live in poverty!
Look what came in the mail today!

Another Disabled Person Harrassed by the Police!
I've been screaming about this for years and no one will listen. Do you know how painful it is to have someone stand/put pressure on a prosthetic? It is the worst pain imaginable! I cried watching this. Sad, when my ending thought was, "so glad he didn't die." This is abuse! The disabled have had too many murdered by the police. Brothers and sisters of BLM, we stand with you and hope you recognize we are all in this fight together.
