FadedMullet's JournalTake a second and watch this PBS Newshour video from the 39:40 mark. Gerald Ford on the need for civility in politics..

"A Fauknerian ode to burnt chicken" Watch this and admire this poet's soul and speech.
https://www.facebook.com/reel/1318020089660651It occurs to me that when Trump says "no tax on overtime" he could mean no witholding from the paychecks, or no....
......tax due upon filing in April. Distinguishing between regular time pay and overtime pay also seems to be a something ripe for cheating and manipulation without a bunch of rules.
Elsewhere here tonight there is discussion about 2028 Dem candidates. The usual, but interesting palaver about Mayor...
......Pete, Kamala again, and why Hillary lost. Also the usual commentary about conservative, Repub heads exploding. All good fun. But it has me remembering when Bill Clinton won and he and Hillary were heading to the White House. There was talk about how competent she was, how smart and accomplished, and how she wouldn't just be the usual "first lady", but a partner. Even the term "dual presidency" was used. The Right Wing lost their minds, and we sort of forgot about the depth of their hatred in 2016 when we gave her the nomination.
Lately when I go down my youtube rabbit hole, video of people with being entertained by their large, animated spiders,
.......which are big, fuzzy but somehow endearing pets, seems to be what YouTube's algorithm has decided that that's what I need to see. I can't argue.

Before Youtube and the Internet, I'm guessing that not many people knew much about cows and their.....
.......personalities, playfulness and sense of joy. But now we can have a whole new appreciation of cows (and other animals) because we can see them in situations that were never widely known or celebrated.

I'd almost feel sorry for the Repubs in NYC. They got Curtis Sliwa as their "law and order", throwback....
candidate, or, more accurately, sacrificial goat. No, wait. I dont feel sorry at all.
They are saying that the Dem primary in NYC is something of a referendum on the future of our party. Huffington.....
......just ran an article that said the following: "That this race is close at all is a blaring alarm for establishment Democrats, especially the partys most comfortable and sclerotic. If its happening to Cuomo, it can happen to them". All of this because Cuomo, with a huge war chest and establishment backing, is in a tight race against democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani. What do you think when you read "comfortable and sclerotic" and "democratic socialist" as the political dichotomy the New York voters are choosing between?
If I told you that in Argentina "Unidentified government troops, wearing masks and driving unmarked vehicles......
........were arresting peaceful pro-democracy demonstrators, denying them due process or any contact with the outside world and that these protestors legal rights to be in the country was being denied and that some of them were being shipped to a third country and were there being held by another corrupt regime which was being paid to hold them, would that trouble you at all? Oh, wait, did I say Argentina? I meant California. Those pro-democracy demonstrators.
Words that were first used in the year you were born. Just found this on the intertoobs from Merrian-Webster's.....
......website. My birth year, 1947, introduced apartheid, afterburner, bikini, bank card, counterculture, fair trade, flight attendant, flying saucer, hydrogen bomb, kibbutznik, methadone, Negroni, party-pooper, role-model, red carpet, swim fin, spinal tap (not the band) and strip search. Also new that year was "flop sweat" which does surprise me.
