Gideon Levy pushes back on Israeli claims regarding the Madleen

https://youtube.com/shorts/Zz8aKyCq9eQ?si=0Ks2NiPUDHjoKYcG

"Israeli journalist and author Gideon Levy pushed back against claims that Israel’s hostilities against the Madleen aid ship bound for Gaza were due to the alleged danger posed by activists onboard, who Israel accused of being “antisemites” and “Hamas sympathisers”.

The Haaretz columnist responded by saying Israel is only “scared” of revealing Gaza’s destruction, and it is the “first war” in which journalists have not been allowed to enter a conflict zone for 20 months."

'Jewish Physician and infant holocaust survivor, Gabor Mate, reaffirms his support for the Gaza Freedom Flotilla.

'Speaking from Poland near the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising memorial, Mate sends a message to the crew of the Madalyn.

He draws a parallel between their mission to Gaza and the historic resistance of the ghetto fighters.

“Even if you don't achieve your objective of reaching Gaza, which of course they will not let you, you have already won. You have already scored a great victory for humanity,” Mate concludes.'

Horse feather

Here's a turkey feather I painted about 4 or 5 years ago. It was about 8" long. Painted with acrylics.

Rhea, Crone Bride

Here's one of my last polymer pieces. Early 2000's. She's made of translucent polymer clay, with colors mixed in for the veins and skin color. She has white mohair, and is a bit painted with acrylics. Her gown is silk gauze. She's completely posable at her joints. She sits in her chair with her bouquet waiting for her groom to arrive. She'd be about 18" if standing.

Winter Wizard

Here's a sketch I did early 2000's. Winter Wizard. 8" x 10" pencil sketch. Just a quick sketch, not finished, but a collector bought it. I had scanned it in and lightly colorized it. I was looking at a Michelangelo sculpture when I sketched his face. Someday I may print it out and mount it to a board and paint it in oil, and yes, finish it.

The Little Thief

Here's a full sculpture I made around a decade or so ago. She's fully sculpted from Aves Apoxie Sculpt (http://avesstudio.com) over wire and foam armature, painted with acrylics, with wool hair. A Metro bus driver in Kent I think bought her.

She's a Sprite that 'collects' beautiful pieces of jewelry.

He's lovey but don't pick him up! Only I can do it sometimes, and in a very specific way!

Fox and lynx on turkey feathers

Happy Monday!

Here are two turkey feathers I painted in 2018 or so. I painted lots of feathers for folks - horses, cows, a pit bull, etc. I really like these two. I have a tub full of beautiful turkey feathers from my friends' wee farm.

For all of you SF/Fantasy folks, here's Chthulha

yes, Chthulha

I sketched her in the early 2000's and she was picked to be on the cover of a sci/fi/fancon, I believe it was in Orlando. I went to so many conventions they're all blurred in my memory. My husband at the time was the Artist GOH, but they picked my art, which was, er, uncomfortable. He's since passed,

Good morning!

We love our babies. One of our kitties, Midnight, sleeps with me every night, along with our Aussie, Josie. She's a small girl, weighing 40 lbs. Her dad is a mini and her mom full size. Our cats, Midnight and Jasper, are brothers. They all love each other.

Here's Josie and Jasper in front of the fire.

About Goddessartist

Hi everyone. I'm an artist and a grandma. My other half and I live on an island outside of Tacoma and Seattle. Both of my daughters, grandsons and son in law live here as well. Z, my partner, is also an artist, and was a mental health specialist for 30 years. He's Jewish. Most people call me a witch ;). I've had the handle goddessartist since 1998, as I was creating Goddess art dolls and showing them in Manhattan every year. I'm goddessartist across all platforms. I've followed DU for the past 19 or so years. I was here many years ago as Americana, but really never posted. DU is my first visit every morning. I'm so grateful to everyone on this site. Rebecca
