Grins's JournalA quick history on Trump demolishing the White House...Why should anyone be surpriosed?
Yesterday the Washington Post ran a story on the destruction of the East Wing of White House, writing that the treasonous, orange bloated gasbag, said the construction wouldnt interfere with the existing White House structure. And moved on.
There was massive "interference" with the White House. This should not have been unexpected. Some quick history.
The venerable Bonwit Teller department store closed its store at Fifth and 56th in 1979. The building was bought by Trump to be demolished so he could build his hideous "Trump Tower." The Bonwit Teller building had an artistic elegant facade that featured a spectacular 15-foot-high Art Deco sculptural ensemble. It was a treasured landmark in New York! (Google and find the image.)
Like the destruction of the White House, Trump assured NYC that the valuable art deco-style bas-reliefs, as well as the fence located above the entrance to the store, would be donated to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The museum was eager to have it and put it on display.
New York Times, June 6, 1980:
That "real estate developer" said "the merit of these stones was not great enough to justify the effort to save them. That three independent appraisals (that he never identified) found them to be "without artistic merit and worth less than $9,000 in resale value.
Which is odd because the Metropolitan Museum of Art had estimated its value at 22-times that at $200,000.
That "real estate developer" quickly became known in NY as That fucking bastard.
He was - who else? - Donald Trump.
Below, a snip of that NY Times story in 1980. Anything jump out at you...? (Hint: Last sentence.)

Yes; THAT "John Baron." To complete that sentence:
Five months later on 17 November, Trump would boast about smashing the art deco-style bas-reliefs pieces. He remarked that the gilt (because of course) lions head medallions at the Grand Hyatt's ballroom entrance were: real art, not like the junk I destroyed at the Bonwit Teller.
And seated nearby - Roy Cohn.
Today's quote of the day! History can be a bitch! (You should save this.)
Quick questions on the Comey indictment...
From the news: The basis of the grand jury charging Comey was the 2020 hearing on the FBIs probe into links between Trump and Russia during the 2016 campaign. The grand jury charged Comey on two counts:
- Making false statements to Congress, and
- Obstruction of a congressional proceeding,
A third count of lying to Congress was rejected by jurors.
Questions:
#1: Did Congress file charges against Comey? Isn't that the first step in any crime? Someone has to file a complaint? No complaint, no injury?
#2: If the third count of lying to Congress was rejected, then how can Comey be indicted for "Making false statements?"
#3: If the hearing was about the 2016 campaign and Russia, can the full (Bill Barr 100% unredacted) Mueller Report be brought into evidence?
Trump goes after Judge's WIFE. (Another) new low.

Read that sentence again, but substitute "Trump" for "de Moraes," and then see how it reads. Tell me how that does not also scream "TRUMP!!!"
Terrorism charges against Luigi Mangione dismissed
BBC:
Although prosecutors argued that writings left by Mangione demonstrated a terrorism motive, the judge said they failed to show that the suspect intended to put political pressure on the government or terrorise the general population key provisions of New Yorks terrorism law which was passed in the wake of the 11 September 2001 attacks.
In case you missed it and need a laugh - Jared Moskowitz on the "fake" Trump signature in Epstein's birthday book
In case you missed it and need a laugh, this is Jared Moskowitz nailing "Gym" Jordan and James Comer, aka, "Comer Fudd", over the Reich's bull-squat argument that it was not Trump's signature on the Epstein birthday book.
I transcribed it from the video, so any errors are all mine, as is the emphasis.

Jared Moskowitz calls on Chairman Jim Jordan to find out who "forged" Trumps signature on the Epstein birthday card 22 years ago.
So this morning our close personal friend, Mr. Comer, said that he was not going to look into the letter, or the doodle, uhhh the president's doodle - he's a decent doodler, by the way - so he wasn't going to look into whether the signature was a forgery, and I'm concerned about that.
Because this is the president of the United States. If there are forgeries or forgers out there, I think we should investigate it.
In fact, this document is 22-years old! So you are telling me that someone - 22-years ago - went 'Back to the Future' and forged his signature - when he was a Democrat, and somehow this person was Nostradamus, KNEW he would become a Republican, become president 22-years later.
So listen. I submit to you that we can solve this problem for the American people. You don't have take my word for it, you don't have to take our dear personal friend, Mr. Comer's, word for it - let's bring in a signature expert!
You guys pick the witnesses, bring in your signature experts, swear them under oath, and let's have this signature examined. Is it his; or it is not his.
We don't have to play games or...you know, the president says it's not his; we say it is him. No! No! No! Let's bring in a signature expert, a referee because we can't agree on anything, even when it is right in front of our face.
Missing: the laughter from the Rep. sitting next to him!
Why is it the Reich-wing went all barking-mad over George Soros, but...
Why is it that the Reich-wing went all barking-mad over George Soros, but remained silent over Trump's Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, being hired by Soros Fund Management and eventually becoming the head of its London office? And that after Bessent left Soros' employ, Soros made a $2 Billion (yes; with a "B"!) anchor investment in Bessent's new venture?
Asking for several millions of people...
WaPo: "Trump to host Kennedy Center Honors"
He's going to HOST.
A former reality show slum landlord obsessed with "ratings," whose unfamiliarity with SENTENCES produce the incoherent speech that psychologists describe as "an episode," his babbling like a meth addict on his second day cold turkey - is going to host.
Right now, irony is hanging itself in a cheap hotel.
Republicans on the debt and taxes! An anniversary! 14-years ago today!
Aug. 11, 2011.
RNC presidential debate at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
Participants: Rick "Don't Google My Name!" Santorum, Herman "Tip your waitress" Cain, Ron Paul, quality aluminum siding salesman, Mitt Romney, Michele "Satan Stole My Vote!" Bachmann, Tim Pawlenty, Jon M. Huntsman Jr., and the plump and wretched jolly fornicator, Newt Gingrich.
Fox News' Bret Baier is moderator.
Mid-way through the debate
Byron York: Democrats will demand that savings come from a combination of spending cuts and tax increases, maybe $3 in cuts for every $1 in higher taxes. Is there any ratio of cuts to taxes that you would accept? Three to one? Four to one? Or even 10 to one?
Rick Santorum: No. The answer is no. (And then conceded that revenues are down.)
Following up...
Bret Baier: Im going to ask a question to everyone here on the stage. Say you had a deal, a real spending cuts deal, 10-to-1, as Byron (York) said, spending cuts to tax increases
. Who on this stage would walk away from that deal? Can you raise your hand if you feel so strongly about not raising taxes, youd walk away on the 10-to-1 deal?
All eight Republican candidates raised their hand.
A disbelieving Bret Baier: "Just making sure everyone at home and everyone here knows that - they all raised their hands, and say that they feel so strongly about not raising taxes, that a 10 to 1 deal they would walk away from. Confirming that."
Literally, all of them, if offered a debt-reduction deal thats 10-to-1 in their favor, would simply refuse. Each 'believed' a 10-to-1 ratio simply wasnt good enough. Worse, the crowd of Iowa Republicans roared their approval.
Anyone wanting to know why compromise has been deemed impossible need look no further than these eight clowns raising their hand to reject a debt-reduction deal that was overwhelmingly tilted - in their favor!
And when the congressional super committee failed to reach agreement on a deficit reduction package later that year? Well, that was just (another) failure "of Washington, of course.
