Legendary musician and megawatt star Prince dies (again) at 57

https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/April-21/music-legend-prince-dies?cmpid=email-hist-tdih-2026-0421-04212026&om_rid=

On the morning of April 21, 2016, Prince, the virtuosic musician who created more than 30 albums and won seven Grammy Awards over a 40-year career, is found dead in Paisley Park, his Minnesota home and recording studio. The cause of death was an accidental overdose of the opioid fentanyl. He was 57 years old.

In the hours and days after the news broke, fans around the world mourned his death with massive memorials. In a statement, President Obama said, “Few artists have influenced the sound and trajectory of popular music more distinctly, or touched quite so many people with their talent.”

Prince Rogers Nelson was born on June 7, 1958, in Minneapolis, to musicians Mattie Shaw and John Nelson. As a teenager, Prince played in bands with his friends. In 1978, when he was 20, he signed his first record contract with Warner Bros., and that same year released his debut album, For You. Nearly every year after that he released a new album.

Source: KHOU 11

A major arrest in the Texas Killing Fields case reveals new details, emotional reactions from families and signs the investigation isn’t over.

GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas — A day after a major arrest in the decades-old Texas Killing Fields cases, Galveston County’s top prosecutor says investigators are finally making progress in a series of killings that have gone unsolved for generations.

But for the families who have spent decades searching for answers, the latest developments are both emotional and unfinished — with some believing there may still be more victims and more suspects yet to be identified.

“I want to make a formal announcement regarding the charges against James Elmore,” Cusick said. “The grand jury handed down indictments yesterday for manslaughter and two felony counts of evidence tampering.”

I told Mrs. Lochloosa that DU could help her, so don't let me down.

She needs an online exercise program that's age friendly. She is 71 and in good health.

Right now, she is using a program for chair yoga and Pilates exercises that she really likes. Unfortunately, it has been locking up on the videos constantly and asking for help is not doing any good. She pay's around 30.00 a month for it.

Can anyone recommend a good website program for her?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Fetterman

Alert away!

Breaking from many of his Democratic colleagues, Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, an outspoken supporter of Israel, also praised the attacks on Iran. “As I’ve long maintained, this was the correct move by @POTUS,” he posted. “Iran is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism and cannot have nuclear capabilities.”
