Inflation is coming....

Many calls with large petro and chemical producers.
Price increases are rolling in. Building block chemicals for manufacturing. European chemical producers not confirming export orders due to cost uncertainty. German Natural Gas was Up 50% beginning of the week. UK similar. Ocean freight jumped 40%. Ships are tied up in the Middle East. The US is relatively protected for natural gas and but oil is not behaving. The spread of Brent to WTI inexplicably compressed….oil in the US is rising because you can get it. $90 barrel Brent.

All of it coming straight to us. It all rolls through to every item we buy.

There seems to be a lot of delusional thinking here

and in other liberal leaning Internet forums on Irans current position in the conflict and their ability to somehow extract victory out of the ashes.

There is an inability to differentiate between the actual performance of the US in the conflict and
our inner anger at the justification for the war.

Anger at the existence of the war should absolutely not cloud our understanding of how the war is going. Wishes should not become facts that the war is somehow going good for Iran.

They are not waiting for the US to run out of missiles or offensive weapons. That is simply not going to happen. They are unable to coordinate any kind of either offense or defense to protect them selves. They have no ability to meaningfully fight back.

Updated. 8:53pm ct. Talarico 53%. Crockett 46%. 45% of expected vote counted.

I cant help but believe that Crocket was not the best candidate to win. Polls just closed. Probably low reporting thus far.

Iran loses entire naval in Gulf of Oman

After attacking oil tankers and threatening the straights, Iran has now lost every vessel(11) it had in the Gulf of Oman. This includes its drone carrier.

Why will the US be ok with the new Ayatollah

If he is just an equal replacement? The desire is for the people to rise up. But their government kills thousands on the street who protest.

Will the US strike the next in line as well? It would definitely be a firm message to change the behavior. When does it end?

It's not about just Iran

I have a background in petroleum derivatives and have worked extensively in the region.

I see this as a wider move against China. China is the largest threat to the US and our economy. Iran threat is nuclear and are largely not supported by their Arab neighbors due to support of regional terrorist factions. The Arab countries now are focused on development and growth away from oil. The last thing they want are rogue nations costing them money and reputation.

China has lost their top two oil suppliers in a matter of months. The nations who ignore the US sanctions on Iran oil purchase it in the global markets at a substantial discount. When we see Chinese goods flooding markets, they are typically not advantaged in a raw material basis to the US. But what they are getting in the background is Iranian and Venezuela oil at a ~15%- 20% discount and Russian oil at a 20%+ discount. This is a lot of the money when you hear China subsidizes its manufacturing so it’s why things are so cheap.

This is a huge profit center for China, Turkey, India. This is being dismantled. The world oil markets are being leveled. The backend oil markets will not advantage China.

Russia is now it. China will take as much as possible discounted oil. If Iran stabilizes oil prices will likely drop as the risk premium on the straits will be removed. Russia will lose further war revenue. Not to mention Russia just lost its major 3rd party supplier of drones.

The attack is on Iran. The wider picture is an attack on the infrastructure of China.
