Lost on the frontline...

"Hundreds of US healthcare workers have died fighting Covid-19. We count them and investigate why..."

Here's a link to an article in The Guardian. I found it very moving. I was on the frontline in March and April and had some good friends become very ill, thankfully they all recovered. I wish I could say the same for all our patients.

I'm going to bed now, after a relatively peaceful nightshift.

Ohio weekly Covid death toll increases again - August 1st

I've been keeping stats on Covid deaths in Ohio since March, the first week the total deaths were at 25. The worst week was the week ending May 23 with 343 deaths that week. After that week the deaths per week steadily declined.

This is two weeks in a row with big increases. The last three weeks had: 96 deaths, then 165 deaths and this week 218 deaths.

I'm afraid people think with things opening up, that it's getting better. It's not!

How could it come to this? - Is it like today?

I had this thought earlier today, for some reason.

and was reminded of this song.

Is it like today? by World Party

My God, President Trump, that is brilliant...

We don't know how you came up with this idea, but you've saved the world!

Okay, wake up Mr. President, it 's time to change your depends. Oh, and keep your hands to yourself this time.

I got swabbed for the corona virus this afternoon

I just got my results

A John Prine memory

I was at a relative's memorial service last fall. It was uncomfortable sitting with some of my right wing nut job relatives. We talked about the weather and college football, until someone mentioned going to a John Prine concert. Suddenly, we were all on the same wavelength, talking about his songs and laughing. It was like old times, back when we all liked each other and enjoyed each others company.

My neighbor cut my grass!

I'm an RN and I work the night shift. When I got up this afternoon my grass had been cut!
Almost makes me wanna cry!

I guess I can go back to bed!
