Thank you for the support!

Although I didn't win my race for District 2 in Otero County, I fought with all my strength and with your support. Thank you all for donations and words of encouragement. I am currently an appointed commissioner and will try to get as much done as is possible in my two months in.

Please help us get the Q out of Otero County

Hello,
I am Stephanie DuBois and I am running for Otero County Commission District 2, which is the same seat currently held by Cowboys for Trump founder Couy Griffin. The Republican that has been chosen to run for the seat is Amy Barela. My friend, DUer duhneece, posted about her earlier this morning:

As you can see we will have the same kind of person in office if she wins, she has been paying a law office out of her campaign money to help her propagate the lie that the 2020 and primary were fraudulent, even though she won her primary by 10 votes. Please help us by donating what you can to our campaign to keep her out of politics.

Thank you all who have donated so far!

Need Help to Stop Otero County Shenanigans

Hello fellow DUers,

Recently, Otero County Commission held a propaganda meeting at a local performing arts theater that was filmed by a professional crew and live streamed on the right leaning video site, Rumble, and I was there in person for all five and a half hours of it. It was a complete circus. Citizens were cut off by the Clements numerous times, and refused their right to address their government because all of their speaking time was used up by actual screaming matches.

David Clements had a temper tantrum so awful, he called for the County Clerk to resign even though she has followed every letter of the law and has been running our elections for years without any complaints until the Big Lie was started in 2020. She left the auditorium in tears.

The Clements, with NMAF, who were hired by the county as volunteers to do an audit on the 2020 election put on a presentation that lasted three hours, most of it referencing the Clements work in other states or counties instead of focusing on what they found locally. The presentation had lots of mandates from God mentions as well.

We need to put a stop to this kind of grifting at the lowest level of government. The Clements manipulate local government officials to push their agenda in an effort to eventually take voter suppression to a national level. All three of the county commissioners voted to spend an estimated $100,000 on a lawsuit against the NM Secretary of State, pushed by the Clements. They told the county attorney that he was spineless for not wanting to file a frivolous lawsuit.

David Clements, an attorney himself, then went on to attack citizens on his social media the following day. Here he is mentioning fellow DUer, duhneece, on his Facebook page, in an effort to have his followers harass her because she filed a complaint to the state bar for his blatant disregard of the law.

My opponent for district 2 commissioner, Amy Barela, was also at this meeting and spoke out in support of the Big Lie. If she is elected, she will continue along the same path as Couy Griffin, both of them handpicked by Republican leadership in the county. Amy and Couy are very good friends, and the voter suppression down here in Otero will continue if she wins.

We need your help down here. As the Democratic candidate to fill Couy Griffin’s seat, we need help getting the word out that I will not be allowing the county to get grifted, wasting thousands of tax payer’s dollars on an issue that was proven false numerous times in many courts of law around the country. I will be sharing my ActBlue donations with Gabe Vasquez, who is running against Rep. Yvette Herrell (who voted to not certify the 2020 election) and Sharonlee Cummins who is running against John Block for NM House Dist. 51. Block attends most of the anti-choice meetings and Big Lie meetings, giving his support for the fraudit, as we call it, and even agreeing that the 2022 primary election wasn’t valid, even though he won against the incumbent.

Please consider donating to our combined campaign to stop these fringe far right fascists from taking over.

Thank you,

Stephanie Dubois, Candidate for Otero County Commission District 2

Thank you duhneece

We need all the support we can get down here in Otero. The resolution passed by the county is the district 2 commissioner, Couy Griffin's, lame duck attempt to keep himself in the news. The resolution passed by the city was a political stunt to promote the GOP candidate for district 51 and as a precursor to 3 of the city commission members reelections early in 2023.
We need to stop this wasteful spending of tax payer dollars for these meetings that the public has consistently participated in against the resolutions. As a county commissioner I will be able to do this at the county level. Sharonlee Cummins will be able to make sure her opponent doesn't keep trying to block healthcare at the state level.
I was proud to attend the city meeting and participate in the rally on Saturday, and even got to give Couy Griffin a piece of my mind face to face, and I look forward to fighting against the oppression with our younger generation.
