About blue-expat

I am a 72-year-old white male who is a non-religious follower of Jesus. As you might expect am also a former Republican who became a Democrat in 2008, twelve years after Elizabeth Warren. I have been very lucky in my life. While in college I wrote a book with two of my professors (Political Alienation in Contemporary America) which to my knowledge has been the only empirical study ever done of the subject. I was an elected officer in the most effective labor union in the United States. On the side, I ran 17 local elections and never lost. In 1978, I bought an Apple][ to play the game of "Pong" but realized it could be used for charting the Stock Market. I then became a successful entrepreneur who was able to retire to the US Virgin Islands, in 2000 after Bush was elected. I knew it would be all downhill from there. After ten years, I got "Rock Fever" (I had done everything there was to do on a small island) so I moved to my present home, the Dominican Republic, which also has beautiful beaches, but has more things to do.
