duckworth969's JournalSC flips Colorado the bird, Dred Scott stirs
The recent SC decision regarding the 14th Section 3, ignoring the issue of insurrection, continues an unresolved situation of serious conflict between the states and the Feds.
Imagine, (I said imagine), California will not accept having someone convicted of insurrection in their state on the ballot. Their state AG says, not happening. California GOP says, yes it is. The SC says you have to. The CA state AG refuses to print ballots with said insurrectionists name on it.
What then? A number of things are possible of course. But to me, the issue returns back to the SC, and/or the states begin to just blithely ignore the SC on this issue, then another issue, then another issue, etc. The authority of the SC, a branch of our government, is now irrelevant.
However you slice it, were headed for a showdown.

Chutkan & Smith & arrogant SC & immunity case
Smith goes to Chutkan and asks her to move the trial preparation from seven months to five.
Chump will scream but trial schedule is her prerogative.
Shes got the guts for it.
Chutkan gave a dig to DC Circuit for the amount of time they were taking to get their immunity ruling out the door.
So, I bet if nudged by Smith, she might move trial prep to a shorter time frame.
Colorado SC 14th ruling and USSC reaction: A Supreme Court Scholar Weighs In
A quick synopsis of a recent vid featuring Supreme Court scholar Steve Vladeck.
Vid link and Vladecks Wiki bio are below.
Brief summation of his views:
Its unlikely USSC will take any appeal up before the CO deadline because Chump will wait to appeal until the very last minute (like he usually does), then there wont be enough time remaining on the clock for USSC to act before the ballots need to be printed.
If theres an appeal, USSC will take it up. But it might be a number of weeks before we see much action from them.
As far as how the USSC will rule, he believes affirming to be unlikely.
USSC could end up ruling TFG did commit insurrection but that he can remain on primary ballots, a decision that will satisfy no one.

Weaponization of the 14th Amendment: Recent Colorado SC Ruling Ain't All Cherries
Sigh, no one wants to be a wet blanket.
But thought Id say my piece anyway.
Texas is already making noises about keeping Biden off the ballot.
Whatever legal argument Texas might use, it might not take much for them to gin up a reason and press ahead.
As most of us know, rational argument is not a long suit of Texas Repuglicans.
Ive attached two blogs from DailyKos if youd like a deeper dive as to the cons of using the 14th to keep Chump off the ballot.
Here they is:

Honestly, Im torn over the issue. I want the SOB out of politics and in jail.
But I also think we should stop and consider that we might win the battle but lose the war.
GOTV is the better tool to keep TFG out of politics.
Scott Perry's phone and Ginni Thomas
If any of Perrys voluminous texts mention Ginni Thomas role in J6 coup attempt, she cant hide.
She is not covered by the speech and debate clause like congress members can.
But maybe she could raise her hand and say, you hoo, Im the wife of a SC justice. You cant touch me. Nah nah nuh boo boo!.
I find it intriguing.
Ginni Thomas' J6 participation looms large in congressional recusal request letter for Justice Thomas

J6 and Mar-A-Lago obstruction charges for Chump (and others) in peril
SC reached down into the appeals court and nabbed a case about obstruction of an official proceeding.
They couldve waited but wanted to wade in and fuck shit up now.
Decision by appeals court will probably be reversed.
Harry Litman explains it well. Link is below.
Honestly, if it isnt one thing its another with our judiciary system.
Delays out the ass.

Colorado 14th amendment court hearing, an intriguing possibility
I have a link below of Harry Litman analyzing possible outcomes for the Colorado Supreme Court hearing.
The part that got my attention is the section of the vid around 1015.
The US Supreme Court could decide that, in this instance, the 14th isnt federally justiciable because it concerns Colorado state law.
Meaning, if Colorado says Chump can be disqualified under state law, then thats it.
Hes not on the ballot because Colorado says he isnt.
Harry states, should that happen, it is terra incognita for our country and how it plays out is anybody's guess.
