essaynnc's JournalMy e-mail to Senator Ted Budd, NC senator opposite of Thom Tillis that said NO WAY !
This is the e-mail that I sent to Senator Ted Budd. His counterpart in the Senate for the state of NC, Thom Tillis, showed some testicular fortitude and said he would vote against the Ugly Little Abomination. He's said he's retiring, I wonder if it's because 1), he has a conscious, and 2), he knows he'll be attacked relentlessly by the right. My hat's off to Senator Tillis, let's see if Senator Budd will agree.
Senator Budd,
Why in the world, would you as a "conservative", vote for the horrendous bill that is now being debated in the Senate???
Beside the fact that the majority of the voters in North Carolina and the country know that it's TRASH.
It will wildly increase the deficit and the national debt.
It will take away healthcare from countless millions of people.
It will close many rural hospitals, including here in our state of North Carolina, causing countless unnecessary deaths.
It gives more tax breaks to the wealthy that don't need it, all on the backs of working families, the poor, and our future.
It takes away money from much cheaper, faster-to-install renewable energy and gives more to subsidies of harmful fossil fuels.
It give more money to ICE for Nazi-like detention of law abiding immigrants and even citizens, after the campaign promise of only deporting the "bad ones".
Just the above that I've listed is horrible, but there's lots more to the bill to really, really, REALLY dislike.
My question is this; 2 parts. WHY? And WHAT is your vision of America once all of these horrible, expensive, hateful, and draconian measures are implemented??? It doesn't seem to be the America that i know and love.
I've said my part. I urge you to vote against this abomination. Let your conscious and your faith help decide what's right.
Yours,
Steve
Please help me with the name of a book.
About 10 years ago, I read a book about a continuing conspiracy of Southern rich people trying to bring back the antebellum, eventually to take over and overthrow the US government. The woman author went looking at the University of Virginia and found an entire trove of documents that suggested it had been going on since the end of the civil war and was continuing to this day.
Is this what the heritage foundation and their ilk are now up to?
Thank you in advance!
