Source: AP World News
MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) Australian accident investigators on Thursday released dramatic images of a skydivers parachute becoming entangled on an airplanes tail, leaving him dangling at 4,500 meters (15,000 feet.)
The skydiver, Adrian Ferguson, used a hook knife to cut himself free and sustained minor leg injuries during the incident on Sept. 20 that began at Tully Airport in Queensland state. The pilot and 16 other parachutists on board the Cessna Caravan that day were not hurt.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau released the video with its report on its investigation into the mishap.
The plane had reached the desired altitude where the skydivers were planning to execute a 16-way formation jump. A 17th parachutist was at an open door waiting to record video as the others jumped.

Code name: Fang. Operation: Get me back home
Anyone lose a cat? This little one showed up at my doorstep last month. I have posted him on Pawboost and tried a weeks worth of Facebook ads to see if it will help. We also brought him to the vet to get a physical and his shots too. The problem for us is that he attacks our cats, so we really don't want to keep this guy. I have him trapped in a side room for now. He gets out into the living room area for a couple of hours each night. He was in survival mode when he showed up, but he's calming down now. He still hates our guys though, so I have to keep him quarantined from them. I live in Broward County, FL but he wouldn't be the first stray cat to cross the country. I have a bad feeling that his owner took him for a 2 beer ride and that's how he ended up at our place. He was at the neighbor's house first. They took him to get him checked for FHIV, but he's negative. Unfortunately he attacked their cat and 2 dogs. He ripped a hole in their screen before escaping to my house. Fun times!
Anyway, this is a neutered male that is approximately 5-6 years old.
PS - I'm not really on Facebook, but my wife still has a page there. I'm also not sure if this link will work, so I put some photos below. Thanks for looking!

Burglar cat does a B&E
Apparently we have a new neighbor and their cat has decided he wants to live at our house. The problem with that is he is chasing our boys away. He also got in late one night and jumped up on our bed and went after Celina. We were sound asleep when it happened. I'm wondering if this cat has a thyroid problem. It's either that or maybe the new neighbors aren't feeding him enough. He's always ravenous when I feed him. He's friendly to people, but not other cats. For now we have to keep the kitty door closed. Hopefully he'll calm down over the next few weeks so he can learn to hang with rest of the gang.
Post "Sunday Brunch Siesta" in the back yard.
Jethro decided to conk out in the back yard yesterday after breakfast. After that he made several trips coming in the back door, meowing at the front door to be let out, and then running around to the back of the house to do it all over again.

Fan spots cancer on neck at NHL Game/One Good Thing
This is a feel good story if you have 5 minutes:
We went and saw Toto on Friday night in West Palm.
It was the first night of the tour. All the bands played well and the singers hit their notes too. The first act was Men at Work fronted by Colin Hay. He was very funny in between songs, so if you're going to this show, make sure you don't miss the first act. Christopher Cross was great and did all his hits. Toto was amazing and got the crowd going. If you're looking to see a good show, this is a great choice. There was one MAGAt that I saw walking up and down the aisles early on. He had his red hat on and was strutting around as if to say "look at me". He was wearing a sport jacket and long pants. The show was out doors and probably 90 degrees. This guy would have looked smarter in a dunce cap. Anyway, I kind forgot about him and Toto had just started when I hard someone behind me say, "that's not your seat! That's her seat. Get out!". I just ignored the first one, but two seconds later the same guy screamed out the same thing. I didn't want to get hit in the back of the head so I turned around. I've been hit in the back of the head at a concert before and I don't recommend it. I would give it only one star if I could, but there were too many stars to count. My wife also turned around as did several others sitting in our row and low and behold it was MAGAt dude occupying a seat that apparently was not his. I was getting ready to go get an usher when the a-hole realized he better move along. Other than that it was a great show. Fun times!
Meow On!
Still lookin' for my teenie weenie Celina Bean.
She's super sweet 'cuz she is not mean.
See her behind the TV screen, Celina Bean.
CELINA. BEAN.
Meow On!
Meow On!
Hey, did ya meow-meow-meow? Meow On!
ooo my soul.
Hey, did ya mew-mew too? Did ya?

I was wondering where Celina had gone off to the other day, when the late Herbie Flowers popped up in my YouTube feed.
Herbie Flowers played bass on "Rock On" by David Essex and also on Lou Reed's "Take a walk on the wildside". I'm pretty sure I heard Rock On at least once a day for almost 20 years. Celina has strange hiding places too.
Black Bean Soup - ala Chilis
Back in the late 80s or early 90s my sister had a job as a server at Chilis and she brought home some black bean soup. I loved it and sometimes I would stop in there just for a bowl of this soup. Chilis took it off the menu years ago so I went in search of a way to make it myself. I don't like to cook, so there's that, but I did find a recipe that brought me in the ballpark. I use a blender to make this. I also found out that the soup is best when you let it cool to room temperature and then put it in the fridge overnight. This recipe has sausage and chicken broth, but it might be good with substitutions. It's mostly vegetables. (also, I do rinse the black beans in a colander. I learned about that the hard way.
) Here goes:
Ingredients
3 - 15.5 oz cans of Black Beans
1 - large carrot diced up
1/2 - teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 - large celery stalk diced up
4 - tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro
1 - tablespoon lime juice
2 - cloves minced garlic
1 - heaping teaspoon ground cumin
3 - cups chicken broth
1 - large onion (somewhere between a baseball and a
Softball. I use the red ones, but Im sure the others are fine too)
1 - Hillshire Farm type Smoked Beef Sausage 12oz
1 - tablespoon tomato paste
1 - box of Saltines or tortilla chips (optional)
1. Cut the sausage into bite size pieces, fry for a
few minutes, strain off the grease and set aside.
(I cut mine into thin circles)
2. Chop up the celery, carrot, and onion. Chop up
the cilantro too, but keep it separate from everything
else.
3. Add the celery, carrot, onion, garlic, and cumin to
the pot. Saute until softened on
medium heat for about 5 minutes.
4. Transfer mixture to a blender or food processor. I
add one cup of chicken broth to this mix because my
blender needs all the help it can get. Liquefy. Rinse
your pot and pour the mixture back in.
5. Blend up 2 cans of Black Beans with 2 cups of
chicken broth. I usually do one can/cup at a time
because of my poor piece of junk blender. Add the
Black Bean/Chicken Broth mixture to the pot too.
6. Drain the last can of Black Beans and add to the
pot. Add the sausage, cilantro, tomato paste, lime
juice, and cayenne pepper. Mix thoroughly.
7. Heat slowly on medium and serve with the saltines.
Enjoy!
So Celina fell in the pool this morning. She's OK, but it was a bit comical.
My wife usually gets up around 6 or so and it's still dark out. She likes to sit on the back patio for a half hour or so before getting ready for work. I usually get up about a half hour after her, but she woke me up this morning. I heard her yelling "oh no" and "sorry baby" so I jumped out of bed fearing the worst. That's when I heard the thwack sound of Celina bolting back into the house through the cat door. She was soaked and racing through the house with my wife chasing her around with a towel. She got water everywhere before we caught her and dried her off. Celina thinks the pool is her water bowl. Actually all 3 cats drink out of the pool even though they have two giant water bowls inside. The good thing about this is that we know she can get back out of the pool really quickly. She fell in where it was about 4 feet deep. I'm pretty sure she got out faster than she fell in. After we caught her and got her all dried off she stayed glued to my lap. I had to give her an extra 15 minutes of lap time before I headed off to work. We're not sure if she just leaned over to far. The water level is a bit low. I have a feeling she'll be using the inside water bowls for the near future. She's all dried off with a shiny new coat. She was purring and giving me the slow blinks so she's over the incident now.
