It's an onanistic orgy!
Today a weak and cowardly man will celebrate his birthday with an onanistic orgy of violence. He will be surrounded by his usual coterie of fawning flunkies, fellow members of the grifting guild and malformed nepo babies. He will revel in the reflected “manliness” of environmentallly destructive vehicles spewing noxious gases, followed by freakish humans beating the snot out of each other. US troops will also be used as props in this appalling spectacle, but only if Pete Hegseth deems them “hot” enough.
The event, sponsored by corporations who consider alcohol, tobacco, gambling and money laundering as wholesome American values, will be available to the average American whose taxes are paying for it, but only if they subscribe to a channel financed by oil money and made possible by the corruption and perversion of the justice system.
The weak and cowardly man will undoubtedly enjoy his tacky extravaganza .
It has nothing to do with the America I love.

Need help from DU vets regarding charities
I had great help from someone back in NC selling my old home. He was able to arrange the estate sale and sale of the house.
I could not go back due to medical problems. He also sent packed and shipped some items, including my dad’s old army trunk which contained items of great sentimental value.
I was billed and paid for all this, except for the shipping of the trunk. Jack said that although he has never served, he was doing that in order to honor a veteran.
Well, this veteran’s daughter would like to do something to reciprocate that kindness. So I thought I’d make a donation in Jack’s name to a charity that helps veterans. I’ve looked on the internet, but can’t be sure which are legit. So I’m asking the ever helpful DUers.
My dad served in the army in Panama for a few years, then came back, met mom and got married. Then Pearl Harbor occurred and he knew he had to go, but because of his previous service he was not in combat. He was a machinist mate in the Seabees, stationed in New Caledonia.
So that’s my story. If you have any suggestions about organizations that help either service, I would be most grateful.

I think that incident in the gym class showers when the other boys pointed and laughed at your nether region was regrettable.
Despite surrounding yourself with flunkies who continuously deny that you DON’T have tiny hands (they are being discreet), you seem to still bear the scars of that episode.
No amount of tacky glitz or big military toys can fill the void.
Get some therapy and stop bombing the hell out of other countries and the Constitution.

At last, some good news. Maybe. Ric Grenell is leaving the Kennedy Center!
The incompetent and complacent Ric Grenell is stepping down as head of the Kennedy Center. Mr. Grenell, whose previous job was as Trump’s incompetent ambassador to Germany, has, along with the incompetent flunkies who replaced the previous board, have done much to destroy the once admired institution. However, he did get Trump’s name on the building and spend needless money on useless tacky “renovations “. Mission accomplished.
I cannot find any information on Matt Floca, Grenell’s successor. There is the usual tripe on the Kennedy Center page, but since I cannot trust a damn thing this administration puts out, I will assume he is equally incompetent and unqualified as Mr. Grenell unless I learn otherwise.
