PLOS-ONE: A Note on Internet Use and the 2016 U.s. Presidential Election Outcome
...for each of our three measures of internet use, the proportion of voting respondents who voted for the Republican candidate in each presidential election.... show that, if anything, Trump outperformed relative to trend among those groups that are least active online. For two of the three measures, the 2016 election marked the first time since 1996 that the Republican candidate performed equally well or better among the group that is less active online.

Rahm Emanuel: Three Destructive Myths
First, those of us who practice politics know that sound does not always equal fury......
Second, some seem to think that the progressives are a new voice in the Democratic coalition.....

I Am Curious (Science)
Do you think of yourself as open-minded?
Both liberals and conservatives, they found, were similarly adamant about avoiding contrary opinions... two-thirds of those surveyed passed on a chance to pocket money if, in exchange, they took some time to just look at counterarguments, never mind seriously entertain them.
But researchers... have also found a reason for hope, a personality trait that seemed to war with biased judgment: They called it science curiosity.
Science curiosity is different from science knowledge. Science-curious folk always chose to look at new evidence, whether it aligned with their beliefs or not. Less science-curious adults became more resistant to contrary evidence and more politically polarized as they gained subject matter knowledge.
