About sashawood

I am a member of the We Are Jose committee, a group formed in British Columbia to help stop the deportation of 16 year resident of Langley BC and father, Jose Figueroa. In 2010, Jose was ordered deported simply for being a member of a peaceful student group in college, associated to the opposition movement FMLN, that opposed the violent government regime in El Salvador over 20 years ago and is the current elected government in El Salvador. The aim of the group is to stop Jose\'s deportation and also raise awareness of the problematic policy and it\'s impact and implications for many other refugees associated with the FMLN and other opposition movements. Being associated with the FMLN should not be grounds for deportation and inadmissibility in Canada. It seems the Canadian government have a flawed memory of the El Salvadorean conflict.
