The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, commonly known as the Kennedy Center, will be renamed the “Trump-Kennedy Center,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday.

The prestigious Washington, D.C., cultural center’s board of trustees, who were appointed by President Donald Trump in February, “have just voted unanimously” on the name change, Leavitt said on X.

President Donald Trump on Friday said that he is asking the Department of Justice to investigate relationships between notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and former President Bill Clinton, JPMorgan Chase
, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, billionaire tech investor Reid Hoffman and others.

Trump’s statement comes as he faces renewed pressure over his own past friendship with Epstein, who killed himself in August 2019 after being arrested on child sex trafficking charges.

“Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans, to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN, and all of their other failures, I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him,” Trump wrote Friday in a Truth Social post.

Sen. John Fetterman's office said the Pennsylvania Democrat is under "routine observation" in a Pittsburgh hospital after he fell during an early morning walk Thursday near his home in Braddock, Pennsylvania.

"It was established he had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up that led to Senator Fetterman feeling light-headed, falling to the ground and hitting his face with minor injuries," a statement from his office said.

Fetterman opted to stay in the hospital so doctors can "fine-tune his medication regimen," the statement said.

Terence Stamp, the English actor who played the arch-villain General Zod in Superman films, has died at the age of 87.

In a career that spanned six decades, the Oscar-nominated actor starred in films including The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Far From the Madding Crowd and Valkyrie.

Stamp died on Sunday morning, his family said in a statement to Reuters news agency.

"He leaves behind an extraordinary body of work, both as an actor and a writer that will continue to touch people for years to come," they said.

David Gergen, a political commentator who served under four U.S. presidents, died Thursday. He was 83.

Gergen died in a retirement community in Lexington, Massachusetts, The New York Times reported Friday. His son, Christopher, told the Times the cause of death was Lewy body dementia.

Gergen’s daughter, Katherine Gergen Barnett, announced his diagnosis in December in The Boston Globe.

“Watching the wrecking ball of Lewy body dementia careen into the fortress of my father’s mind has been devastating,” she wrote.

Gergen served under President Richard Nixon as a speechwriting director, and under Presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Regan as the White House communications director. Gergen then served as an official counselor to President Bill Clinton.

A federal judge grew frustrated Monday over the Trump administration’s shifting claims about its handling of Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s illegal deportation to El Salvador — and whether it plans to deport him again before a criminal case against him is resolved.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis said getting certain answers from the administration was like “nailing jello to a wall” and ordered the Justice Department to produce a witness from the Department of Homeland Security on Thursday to testify about its designs for Abrego.

Abrego is currently incarcerated in Tennessee, where he faces federal human smuggling charges. A magistrate judge initially ordered him released from custody but agreed to a last-ditch request by Abrego to remain in detention for fear that the administration intends to immediately deport him if released. His attorneys say the criminal case was concocted by the administration on flimsy evidence in order to persuade the government of El Salvador [
to return Abrego to the United States in June.

Xinis pressed the Justice Department on those claims Monday, noting that officials testified in Abrego’s criminal case that the investigation of didn’t begin until April 28 — more than a month after he was illegally deported to El Salvador in violation of a 2019 court order finding he could face persecution there at the hands of a local gang.
