Minnesota GOP had warning of COVID outbreak - but only told Republican staffers: report

"According to the Star Tribune, Republicans in the Minnesota state Senate became aware of a COVID-19 outbreak in their midst this week — but only sent out a warning to Republican members and staffers, leaving their Democratic-Farmer-Labor counterparts in the dark on a serious risk to their health.

“In the memo, Craig Sondag, the Senate Republican chief of staff, declined to reveal the names of the infected, citing a balance between the infected people’s right to privacy and the need of their contacts to know they had been exposed. He instructed all GOP Senate staffers to work from home, including during Thursday’s special session,” said the report. “The memo, the authenticity of which was confirmed to the Star Tribune by Senate spokeswoman Rachel Aplikowski, was first reported by Minnesota Public Radio. MPR also reported that Sen. Paul T. Anderson, R-Plymouth, has tested positive for COVID-19.”

"DFL Senate Minority Leader Susan Kent called the news “outrageous and completely unacceptable,” and DFL Gov. Tim Walz expressed shock at the GOP caucus’ behavior on Twitter Saturday."

Despicable behavior continues from the GOP. Whodathunk?

Right-wing judges threaten to toss Minnesota ballots that don't arrive by Election Day -- even if

they were sent on time.

I guess burning this country to the ground is now acceptable in the attempt to maintain power. I will not sit idly by and watch it happen.

"On Thursday, a three-judge panel for the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals tossed out a consent decree protecting mail-in ballots in Minnesota that arrive later than Election Day, as long as they are postmarked by that date.

The 2-1 order, issued by judges appointed by George W. Bush and Donald Trump, argues that the Minnesota Secretary of State usurped the authority of the legislature. The decision does not automatically throw out ballots that arrive late — but orders state election officials to set them aside, and suggests that they could be invalidated after the election."

They do not want our votes counted. They know if they do get counted, a long journey in the wilderness awaits them, from which they may never return. Good! If this fucker steals this election, republicans will burn to the ground. I will personally help to grind their ashes into dust.

Damn, tornado warning just announced.

Sirens going off. Looks like it's headed right for us.

Bumpy night ahead.

Please boycott these fuckers, if you will.

I will never eat at one of these "restaurants" as long as I live.

I will always support the workers, but the owners - not so much. Fuck them!

It is becoming clear that "We The People" are not going to survive this so called "presidency."

I do not advocate revolution. I do advocate survival.

Any fucking suggestions?

How do we survive this shit?

We are at a crossroads my DU friends.

It's time to decide, Democracy or Fascism?

Good luck, y'all.

We had a fair shot following science. Rejecting science, we have no shot at all. Enjoy your last hours. Peace out.

So, this is what it took.

The threat of millions of dead people. Oy vey.

Trump, and his supporters, pose an existential threat to all life on this planet - in particular,

Democrats.

I hope we can all survive until this November's election.

He, and they, must be stopped at any, and all, costs.

Eh, do we have a backup plan just in case?

I voted for Elizabeth Warren in the Minnesota primary today (early voting).

It felt good to have a chance to actually vote for her. I think she would make a wonderful POTUS.

My wife and I were the only two at Oakdale City Hall voting. I am hoping for a strong turnout for the general election - no matter who the successful nominee turns out to be.
