At big-ticket dinners, a blunt Bernanke sounds theme of low rates

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/big-ticket-dinners-blunt-bernanke-200233561.html

NEW YORK/BOSTON (Reuters) - In a series of quarter-million-dollar dinners with wealthy private investors, Ben Bernanke has been clearer than he ever was as chairman of the Federal Reserve on his expectations that easy-money policies and below-normal interest rates are here for a long time to come, according to some of those in attendance.

The accounts of the discussions come from attendees as well as those who heard second-hand what was said at the dinners, where hedge fund managers and others willing to foot the roughly $250,000 bill for each event asked the former Fed chairman questions in a free-flowing round-table fashion over recent weeks.

Another dinner guest was moved when Bernanke said the Fed aims to hit its 2 percent inflation target at all times, and that it is not necessarily a ceiling. "Shocking when he said this," the guest scribbled in his notes. "Is that really true?" he scribbled at another point, according to the notes reviewed by Reuters.

The sources requested anonymity because the dinners were private and they were not authorized to discuss the material publicly.

---------------This is what's wrong in amerika--These clowns are free to run wild with no oversight. We blame Holder for not reining these criminals in---- when the blame goes a lot higher !!

There are some people here who live for the thrill of being the star of the show

Its never enough to get kicked out ---- they just are rude enough, crude enough, impolite enough, unmannered enough, and discourteous enough to avoid the inevitable "see you later".

Just block them. The world is full of irritating, sarcastic and irreverent people.

Rather than attack the RePuke bastards who are entitled to disdain, they make comments that are in bad taste to people like you.

It is Snark-- and here is my favorite quote on that subject.

" Julie, with champagne as a lubricant, she unleashed an unending series of snarky comments for the duration of the wedding reception."

Yes, they are

It takes years of therapy and a lot of drug counseling ( to deal with self medication issues) to even get a handle on it.

Many unfortunately commit suicide as a way out of their depression. They are truly casualties of war. Every generation has faced this.

When you shoot a child and see its dead eyes staring up at you, you wonder if it was all worth it.

Its not like playing a video game.

The smells are revolting, dead bodies left in the sun for a couple of weeks really stink.

And when the dogs and pigs start feeding on corpses it becomes positively grotesque.

Absolutely !!

I also use the VA and the improvement is remarkable over the past almost 6 years.

The Conservative RePukes and their ilk don't like Shinseki because he told the truth about Iraq.

Shinseki publicly clashed with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld during the planning of the war in Iraq over how many troops the United States would need to keep in Iraq for the postwar occupation of that country. As Army Chief of Staff, General Shinseki testified to the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee that "something in the order of several hundred thousand soldiers" would probably be required for postwar Iraq. This was an estimate far higher than the figure being proposed by Secretary Rumsfeld in his invasion plan, and it was rejected in strong language by both Rumsfeld and his Deputy Secretary of Defense, Paul Wolfowitz, who was another chief planner of the invasion and occupation.

They want him out of there for other reasons
