I like this old gasbag but I can't figure out why he would choose a VAT over a transaction tax in his projection.
If it's sustainability he wishes, transactions taxes would be more stable that those tied to any relative value.
Just sayin'...and since we are in the realm of anarcho-utopian visions, empowering people is best done with power itself. That would seem self evident, if not evident to the Self, hence self-sustainable homes.

Self-sustainable homes that create or capture their own power (energy/electricity) should be the basis for the empowerment of the Self, since none of us live in a void but in homes,
except of course for the 'Other' who lives, I care not where.
