You Got Gold

April 21, 2022

How important is the US Constitution to you?

Or perhaps we should ask, how valuable is the US Constitution to you?

Do we take our freedoms for granted?

What responsibility do we have, personally, to protect the Constitution?

Someone once said that the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

Where are the true patriots?

"Money is the mother's milk of politics".

Jesse Unruh, former Speaker of the California Assembly, is credited with saying that money is the mother's milk of politics. But, is it?

No doubt, money is necessary to get out your message, but doesn't the message have to be more important? Also, the person communicating the "message" must be acceptable to the public. Money alone cannot win.

For example, we have the last election as evidence. We had a very likable lady running in Kentucky the last time around and she raised almost $100 million dollars. She lost by a large margin to Mitch McConnell.

Also, we had a candidate in South Carolina that was running against a vulnerable Lindsey Graham and he raised over $100 million dollars and lost. It wasn't even close.

So, in my opinion, we would be wise to keep money in perspective. The message and the person communicating the message is more important.

Money may be the mother's milk but the message is the mother.

The "mask" has been a very divisive issue.

From the very beginning of the pandemic, a small minority believed the "mask" was an imposition upon their freedom. Fortunately, the majority followed the advice of the scientists and the CDC to prevent the pandemic from spreading further.

Although the Covid is still with us, it is not as deadly as it was in the beginning. Fewer and fewer people are being hospitalized for it. Most are now ready to accept it as a seasonal virus, much like the flu.

Is it finally time to do away with mask mandates? And leave it to the discretion of the individual whether or not they choose to wear one?

And finally do away with one of the major issues dividing this nation?

Responsible people did what had to be done. They tried to prevent themselves and others from catching the deadly virus. They followed the advice of experts.

If some wish to see doing away with masks as some sort of victory, after all these months, then let them have their victory. Almost a million lives will not be celebrating.

Chomsky on Ukraine

In my opinion, one of the best ads the Democrats could make in the next election....

...has already been made.

All the Democrats need to do is run it over and over until every Republican in the nation has seen it at least a dozen times.

What would be the best time for Committee to have public hearings?

And for how long for each session?

I suppose they would need to take into consideration the attention span of the American people?

It should not be anti-climatic.

How many times per week should they meet?

Will they call live witnesses?

In my opinion, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays would be the perfect schedule. Preferably, they would be in prime time for about two hours with each session. They should leave each session with people wanting more information. Do not bore your "audience".

At the rate they are moving with witnesses, they may be able to start their public hearings by the middle of May, it seems to me.

It could be the best political television since Watergate, if they plan it correctly.

Who's left??

In the last couple of weeks, the J6 Committee has interviewed Jared Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, and later questioned Stephen Miller. Yesterday, they grilled Kjmberly Guilfoyle, fiancee of Don Trump, Jr, for about 9 hours. There are no reports yet of what was discussed or what was refused to be discussed?

But, at first glance, the latest witnesses appear to be very close to the Oval Office?

Who else is left?

Except for Donald and his son, Don Jr?

Can we anticipate any subpoenas for those two?
