None so blind as those who will not see.

After all the revelations about Donald Trump, that were exposed in recent books, one might think people would not want to be associated with such incompetence and anti-American behavior?

But not the Republican politicians in Washington. They have heard nothing. They have seen nothing. They still love the disgraced and immoral former Leader. They do not care about anything except staying in power.

Witness the trek by Kevin McCarthy up to NJ to meet with the Former Guy, even as stories were breaking of his treasonous and disgraceful actions. Even as the General in charge of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was exposing the dangers that the ex-President posed for this country.

There is no explanation.

What will it take to open their eyes? What will it take to engage their minds?

Does disaster have to strike our own homes before we can believe it can happen?

Could there be a much larger conspiracy than anyone has imagined?

Could it be a conspiracy involving the entire Republican Party?

After the attack upon our Capitol, two-thirds of them still voted to not certify the election for Joe Biden. That smells all the way to Denmark.

We see conspiracies with Trump and white supremacists, with Rudy and the Russians, with Roger Stone and Wikileaks, but we might have over-looked the biggest conspiracy of all?

Otherwise, why would Republican leaders like McConnell and McCarthy and Scalise, rally behind the criminal ex-President? Maybe they are all in on it?

Maybe this is a conspiracy of a national political Party?

Powerful propaganda can divide the world.

FOX News was never meant to "report the news". They were created to counter "mainstream" news and to offer entertainment to its viewers.

Unfortunately, in their desire to be "fair and balanced", they came to believe that they had to report the exact opposite of what the "liberal" media reported. Over time, that had a very corrosive effect on our democracy.

A democracy depends on some sort of consensus, in order to thrive and survive. If a democracy is divided, it is only a matter of time until it disintegrates and falls apart. FOX News has been more instrumental in creating the present political climate in this country than anyone. We are a very divided democracy.

Perhaps that was not their intent? Regardless, that is the result of their divisive propaganda.

(There is a problem when FOX refuses to report on the bombshell report, of all the numerous books and witnesses that are exposing the threat to us all)

Interesting witnesses for the Special Committee?

Jeff Sessions, Trump's first Attorney General, and later failed candidate for Senate from Alabama. He was so abused that Trump almost made him cry and he threatened to quit. He might clarify some of the Russian connections?

William Barr, Trump's last fully-appointed Attorney General, and full-time suck-up and sycophant, might explain his theory on "justice" as it relates to the Executive Branch of government? Why did he leave so suddenly, just when the nation needed him?

Mike Pence, the Vice-President, who refused to go along with invalidating the Electoral College certification in the Senate, and who barely escaped the hangman's noose, or at least, the threat of being hanged. What is his opinion of Mr Trump now? As the Sergeant asked Arlo Guthrie in Alice's Restaurant, "Kid, have you re-habilitated yourself?"

Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Leader, who is being threatened by his own caucus to lead or step aside. The same McCarthy that got into a shouting match with Donald Trump as the anarchists were threatening the Congress and its members on January 6th. What else does he know? What did he discuss with Trump at Mar-a-Lago?

There are many possible witnesses and I hope the Select Committee does not finish until they have questioned them all.

"Just say you won."

Rudy was attempting to get into the White House to see his buddy, Donald. He had heard the news. Donald was expected to be ahead in the election when the first votes came in. But, because of the number of mail-in ballots and absentee ballots, he was not expected to win.

He had a brilliant strategy for Donald. Just lie. Just say you won PA. Just say you won all the close races. If there was one thing that Rudy and Donald were good at, it was lying.

And they told a whopper! And they kept telling it. Until all their followers were convinced they were telling the truth. Until they became so angry that they marched on and attacked our Capitol on January 6th.

Their "Big Lie" was successful. Both were extremely confident in their power of persuasion. The "Big Lie" grew and grew. His fans were told that he would re-claim the White House by August 13th. And they believed him and Rudy and his nest of lawyers.

That one small bit of advice created the largest threat against our nation since the Civil War.

"Just say you won".
