Why the Trump Presidency sucked?

To listen to his cult supporters, it was the greatest presidency of all time. The greatest economy. The greatest everything.

The truth is: it was none of those.

It sucked because it divided this country moreso than any time since the Civil War, moreso than the Vietnam War.

It worked more for the interests of Vladimir Putin than it did for our own country.

It ridiculed and badmouthed our allies and kissed up to dictators. That is not America.

It divided friends and families and appealed to the lowest common denominator.

It promoted hatred of those different from us.

It was a shitstain of a presidency.

Does Donald Trump have dementia?

If so, it can accelerate very rapidly.

Six weeks can seem like six months. The deterioration happens more quickly than most people realize. I am speaking from personal experience.

His supporters need to realize the direction he is going.

In my opinion, if Trump is not held accountable by the law and the courts...

He stands a good chance of being elected President in the next election.

If the courts do not hold him accountable for any crimes, why should the voters believe he is guilty of anything?

Just my opinion, but I believe there are enough ignorant voters, including Democrats and Independents, to put him back into office. Why?

Because they have bought into the long-time propaganda against the "old and feeble" Joe Biden.

It's a terrible thought to contemplate but I am very dubious that the voters will hold Trump "accountable" when the courts would not.

With the long delay on the "immunity" charge by the Appeals Court and the likely Supreme Court decision on the 14th Amendment, no one should be optimistic that the law will hold him to account.

After all, why shouldn't an ex-president be immune to the laws that apply to the rest of us? Why shouldn't he say that if ordered the Seal Team 6 to assassinate his political opponents, then he should be immune from any prosecution? Can you not see the difficulties and pitfalls in making a ruling against former presidents, especially those that are criminally inclined?

The danger is that the Courts will make political decisions instead of Constitutional decisions.

"Let the voters decide..."

That seems to be the new mantra of the Republicans.

They do not want a jury to decide the criminal charges against Donald Trump. They think the people at large would be better suited to decide his fate on election day.

Should justice take a back seat to the will of the people? That seems at odds with everything our Constitution stands for, and has stood for in the past.

In effect, they are saying that if Trump wins the next election, he is innocent of all the charges against him. Is that the way our justice system should work?

Is Trump making a mockery of our justice system?

He goes into the court and makes a commotion by talking as witnesses are cross-examined and so forth. He makes a scene going in and coming out, by commenting to reporters and searching for the cameras.

Then, whenever he takes the notion, he simply gets up and walks out of the courtroom during the prosecution's argument. The Judge asks that the record note that Trump has left the courtroom. But, there is no punishment from the Court.

Perhaps the jury noted the actions of the scofflaw as he thumbs his nose at all law and authority?

Perhaps that had something to do with the punitive damages they laid on Mr Trump?

Why is the Appeals Court so slow in ruling on immunity?

There is an older Judge on the panel, appointed by a Republican, and in my opinion, she is hesitant to go along with the other two judges on the panel. They want a unanimous decision, so as they do not look like it is political, since the other two judges were appointed by a Democratic president. They do not want to look partisan in such an important decision.

However, this is the delay that Trump is looking for. It has already pushed the Jury date ahead to April, or probably later.

Any more delay and it will appear that the Justice System has decided to let the voters decide the fate of Donald Trump in the next election. If he loses, then the trials and appeals will continue on course. If he wins....

Barabbas and Pontius Pilate?

By permitting Donald Trump to delay his criminal trials until after the election, is the US Justice System going to let the voters decide the guilt or innocence of Donald Trump and the 91 charges against him?

Are they going to wash their hands of the political mess that we are now in?

Is that the direction we are headed?

Does it seem that the judicial system is moving purposely slow?

Many think Trump will be the Republican nominee and there has been not one criminal trial that has started.

It will be up to our Courts as to whether or not Trump is tried for any of his crimes before election day.
