It HAD TO be done.

If for no other reason as the proverbial “message in a bottle” to the future. We stuck a flag in the sand.

We did that on the moon, too. And shit - maybe that flag will go unseen for generations or however long it’ll take us to get back up there in future space expeditions.

We left a mark. Forever and for all time. And we had to. We had to do that. And we had to do this, too. We left this flag “planted in the sand” of the pages of history books in the future. Where perhaps cooler heads and more clear-eyed analysis and understanding can learn from it.

We needed to leave a mark on donald trump. WE needed to BRAND HIM. After all, he’s the guy who wants his name on everything in huge gold-colored letters everywhere, in much the same way as a dog will want to pee on everything to mark its territory as its own. So WE have now peed on his brand. His name and his “almighty” brand will from now on carry the mark of “IMPEACHED.” He’ll ALWAYS carry that mark whether he likes it or not. He’ll always be listed in the membership of that “exclusive club”. And NOTHING will change that or erase that or excuse OR lie it away. NOTHING.

Even a Senate vote to acquit won’t change that. Won’t make that blemish go away. Won’t change that reality. Or that absolute (and, mind you, NOT “alternative”) FACT. The IMPEACHMENT stands. As Speaker Pelosi said - “impeachment is forever.”

Period. End of sentence. Full stop.
