so, i picked up some malware. something called 'p'

it is fiddling w my info on websites. 2 laptops, both have it.
it's been a nightmare, actually. it has even sent payments that i made and email i sent into outer space.

i took both of them to my local mac specialist, and they couldnt find it.
i found this quora thread, where some guy insists it doesnt/can exist.

https://www.quora.com/On-my-Mac-it-reports-a-malware-file-called-p-that-was-made-and-opened-a-few-moments-ago-It-does-this-very-commonly-What-can-I-do-to-stop-this

but it's right there in my activity monitor.
the mac guys reinstalled my os, but it just started back up. it starts w a dialog box that says- apple wants to make changes, enter your password.
now, i am not that stupid, but it takes 3 tries to cancel it.
after that, i found myself resetting passwords left and right. it even hosed up the admin password.
i'm using my pad now, but sites i accessed from the laptop are hosed for me.

so far no evidence that my info has been used, but what i think it is doing is using my cpu. when this thing comes up, it pegs.
it even messed up applications. i was using itunes on it, not on the web, but it went squirrelly on me. try to switch from what is playing, and it just wont.
it even hacked my indesign. it hijacked the control key.

scared the crap out of my when it happened. figured i was being spied on.

thoughts?

a little xmas ditty from an old friend of mine.

the band- new odyssey played at a pub i used to work at.
hilariously funny, and extremely talented. the band has since broken up, and gary here does solo gigs. used to be 7 guys w 30something instruments. they pared it down to 3/30 for several years.

ebay pics. grrrrrr.

so, if you sell small objects on ebay, pleeeeease take good, clear shots.
i've become obsessed w wedgwood jewelry. the figures wear down if they are worn regularly.
it is so damn hard to figure out how much wear there is from about 80% of the pics.

i sorta dont mind getting one that is a bit worn, as it give me permission to wear it more often.
i can guess. but i end up paying the same for well worn ones as for pristine ones.
they are pretty cheap. usually $20-50. but i would happily pay and extra $10 for the nice crisp ones.

ps, if any of you have any wedgewood, lemme know.
would rather buy from my du buds.

i hope challengers come forward right.fucking.now

for every one of these treasonous shit weasels.
they painted targets on their own backs.
let's dog them for the entire terms.

eta- if anyone in this thread has a candidate that wants to do this, i stand ready to do whatever i can.
i am a kick ass graphic designer, a branding wizard, and 1-1 as a campaign manager.
i would llllllovvvve. to put together a lit package on this issue, and personalize it for anyone up to the challenge. and my advice is totally free.
i also have fairly deep pockets.

do you mind if i opine?

i dont usually post my own pics here, tho i love seeing everyone elses.
i have wrestled w what makes a photo art. i tend to favor things like cindy sherman's set ups, rather than randomly captured subjects.
a great subject makes a nice photo, but i dont see the art there.

but i figured out what it is- composition.
so many photos have their subject centered in the pic, and it's just, well, boring.

art pulls you in. makes you wonder what is behind that object, or around that bend in the path.
it is hard wired neurology that we look first at the lower left corner of an image, and then sweep around it.
it has long been standard advice to look at all 4 corners of your shot.
do that w an eye to were the movement is. to where your eye wants to go.
if it wants to go in on the left, and straight out on the right, change your angle.
make it move. make it suck you in.
that's the diff between a good shot and a great one.

does that make sense?

here's what i think- always keep learning

and you never get old.

i started taking voice lessons a couple months ago. i did 12 yrs of catholic school, and boy howdy did the nuns teach us lil miscreants to sing.
but i had neuro issues that made my voice flat. all these years.

that got cleared up, and my voice is strong and clear. a flat alto no more.
then i bought myself a piano for my bday. same teacher, who i adore, is teaching me that.
i already had a couple hand drums. my time is solid.
then came the tin whistle.
then the ukulele.

so, for xmas, i bought the rest of the band.
second hand stuff off ebay. 5 pc blood red pearl drum kit. groovy low volume cymbals, but a vintage 20" crash.
clarinet, flute, and the 1 spendy thing, a 70's gibson 5 string banjo.
eta- forgot about the fiddle. it said it was a violin, but this old irish girl plans to play fiddle

imma die young at 100. shot by a jealous gf, if everything goes according to plan.

well hell. in for a penny

so, i have been kicking the epson 4900 that the ex left behind for a while now.
cleaning cycles, got empty carts, filled w window cleaner, got piezo cleaner, all still nothing.
i get a halfway decent virtual nozzle check, but zip on paper.

sooo... i broke down and ordered a new print head.
the damn thing was born a dog. chokes on it's own ink, and sprays away a whole cart load if you leave it on. and clogs right up if you dont.

i bought a new set of inks, so i figure i have too much into it to walk away.
i can keep it from clogging up in future w the cleaning stuff i invested in.

but damn epson. i see why you discontinued the thing so fast.
i'm just shocked you cant get a cheaper replacement head. at least i only paid 1/3 of what it cost the first time i looked, 5 yrs ago.
i just couldnt walk away from something that i spent so much money on (it was an xmas gift) and got so little use out of.
i could have just bought a new one, but no...
