this is just crazy. Why do we let the Repugs get away with this type of crap and then keep on electing them?
What are they trying to accomplish if they get this health bill passed and it sucks big time. Don't they care that they will be shouldering all the blame?
Exactly - What Is The Plan To Prevent Russian Interference & Hacking In The 2018 & Beyond Elections.
I hear a lot of acknowledgement that the Russians interfered and hacked the 2016 election. I hear that 17 intelligence agencies have confirmed this. But what I don't hear is what is being done to prevent that from happening again in 2018 and beyond.
Aside from all the talk - is anybody actually doing anything to monitor and prevent that from happening again or is it just all talk and no action?
What agency is in charge of doing something - when the president won't even acknowledge that the Russians interfered and hacked in 2016?
Are we bound to make the same mistakes again in 2018?
If the American People realize nothing is being done - I can see more and more people sitting out voting because they will believe that their vote won't count anyway. This would be a tragic outcome and one that plays into the hands of Putin and the Repugs. I don't think that the Repugs have an incentive to do anything. Are the Dems doing anything or are they just talking too?
Are we doomed to let history repeat itself?

couldn't one of the Dem benefactors spent some of their campaign monies to buy Ossoff a house in the district?
If he loses because he doesn't live in the district it would be a stupid tragedy for the Dems.

steal. The polling numbers are so close that minor tampering can swing it to the Repugs that are masters in voter supression, gerrymandering and tweaking things in their favor.

the WH doesn't want anything on the record any more so that they can lie without being called for lying?
Now without a recording (taped or recorded) a reporter can say that Spicer or Huckabee said something - and the WH can challenge them and say we didn't say that - the reporter must have heard it wrong or misinterpreted what was said.
This way nothing is on the record to be used against them in case Trump contradicts something that was said on record at a presser.
Is this what is going on or does the WH have a different explanation?

We Have To Protect Ourselves From This Russian Hacking To Never Happen Again - But Also.....
we need to protect ourselves from electing a person like a Trump again as well.
I know that the Russians attacked our democracy and if we don't do something to prevent this from happening in the future we're going to lose our democracy. This is the number one issue we have to deal with.
However, we also need to protect this country from ever electing a person like Trump again who takes advantage of the position of president to break laws and benefit - without virtually little accountability or consequences of their actions.
First - any candidate running for president needs to be required to submit themselves to a complete medical physical and psychological examination.
Second - they must be required to divulge their taxes - so we can also get a financial gauge on the candidate.
Third - if elected - they must not have the ability to pardon any of their staff, employees, that committed crimes to help them attain the presidency. They need to be subject to the same laws as any citizen of this country.
Fourth - they must not be able to fire any government employee that is appointed to investigate the potential of wrong-doing by the president or his/her people.
Our founding fathers never anticipated a Trump-like person when they created our Constitution and now that we've experienced first hand the effects of such a person - we need to build in safeguards in our system to prevent a Trump-like person from ever again gaining the position and power of a Trump.
I may have not been able to express myself in this post the proper way to prevent a Trump-like person from ever attaining such power and impunity - but I think you understand what I'm getting at and we as the American People must demand from our elected officials that they work on not letting such a thing happen to us again.

Are People Working In The WH Lawyering Up?......
Now that they learned that Trump is being investigated for Obstruction of Justice - I believe that they can become part of that obstruction case if they aid and abet Trump. One would think that the message of Trump's being investigated would cause them to think twice about how they conduct themselves going forward. One might also think that they would begin to protect themselves and lawyer up.
I just hope that they don't get sucked in by Trump telling them that he'd protect them financially and provide them the means for a lawyer. I could see him telling them something like that - given during the run-up to the election he told supporters at his rally's that he'd pay for their lawyers - if they got in trouble for roughing people up that were contrary to Trump and threw them out.
Any word yet as to whether or not any WH staff is lawyering up?
