Do they support Trump's wanting to invoke a National Emergency to build the wall?
Is It Too Much To Expect A Full Construction Plan From Trump On The Building Of A Wall?....
Now I've never attempted a construction project. Surely nothing of the scope of a Border Wall that would stretch for 1,954 miles along the border of U.S. and Mexico. A wall that would have to traverse a variety of terrain including urban areas, deserts and water. But I worked in industry where business plans, construction plans, marketing plans are all common place and required.
Now Trump claims he's the consummate business man. He is a real estate developer and he has had buildings built all around the world. He should be very attuned to putting together a construction plan as he's had to do that for all of his projects. I don't think he would even consider building a building without a plan.
So the question is - why can't we require a 'construction plan for the border wall' from Trump that details all the pertinent steps from conception through initiation, construction and execution of such a border wall? Such a plan should include factual information that points to the need for such a wall in the first place.
Such a plan should be developed and provided to Congress and the American People - now that Trump is demanding that the monies for the building of such a wall come from the American People and not Mexico like he originally promised.
Such a plan should detail the design goals. [Note: he's not even sure - as he keeps vacillating between a concrete wall and a steel slat fence design].
It should outline every last thing needed for the build - before construction is even initiated. It should provide for cost of materials needed for the build; discuss material purchases (would bids go out for the materials; for the contractors/builders, etc?). It should consider lead times for the materials and detail the delivery of the materials to appropriate areas where construction will be undertaken. It should outline the securing of the land. Today in his impromtu press conference the question of 'eminent domain' came up. Have all individuals that own land necessary for the build of the wall been contacted and is the land secured? It should obtain the proper building permits (if needed) and the have a section detailing the 'environmental impact'. Such a plan should have a detailed budget and a timeline needs to be generated with an estimate of time of completion. I question whether or not such a wall could be built in the time left of Trump's term. Such a plan should also include which agency of the government would be responsible for the care and maintenance of the wall once it is built along with a detailed cost of such maintenance.
I'm sure that there were construction plans generated for the building of the Hoover Dam, the Grand Coulee Dam or the Panama Canal. It would seem to me that such a construction plan is common place - and surely the nature of such an undertaking of a 1,954 mile is of the magnitude and scope of these fore mentioned projects.
If Trump is so intent on having such a wall built - then I think he needs to present to Congress and the American People - such a plan.
This planning process needs also to be considered in the timeline for the building of this border wall as well.
Then and only then - when Trump develops such a plan and it is presented to Congress and the American People for consideration - should such a construction project be initiated - if approval is granted and the monies approved.
This - to me - is only - common sense. Not what's going on now - a crazed man going around the country demanding a wall be built and asking for money - without any thought of a plan in place - without any concrete facts for the need of such a wall.
We the American People should not be held hostage in this shutdown standoff for this wall.
Trump needs to - put up or shut up.

Why Are We Even Talking About Trump As A Candidate For 2020?.....
We are all counting on him to either be impeached or resign before then. Talking about him as a candidate - to me - seems to legitimize him. We're actually contributing to his ego now by talking about him running for a second term.
