I love that model! Looks like originally a Wonder Bread truck.

Makes you "wonder" how many people R-Money screwed over to make all of his bread.
How many people did he have to kindly downsize, uh fire, for the good of the corporation and then give enormous bonuses to retiring executives who ran their relative company into the ground? That's what Bain did. They facilitated the frenzied cannibalism of smaller locally owned and regionally owned companies by larger mega corporate sharks. These sharks owe the employees of the smaller corporations they gobbled up absolutely nothing. Their PR departments use a business model to fire people, or force them to retire by, denying accrued benefits such as time off with family, sick leave, health insurance and more. They use "positive empathetic interaction" by convincing the people that the management is also in jeopardy of losing their jobs. The big sharks not only fire the employees they also drink the blood of their corporate victims. That blood is the people. People have power. There is power in the blood.

Along with the recent multi million dollar lawsuit against Trinity Broadcasting Network and

Paul and Jan Crouch here is a little background on their past corruption and homophobic history.

The video is more than 12 minutes but really brings to light the hypocrisy of these vile people.
It's a Fox expose' from a local Texas channel but it's very well done. (Not the national Faux News.)

Here is the latest story and I think it was posted on DU previously but it cannot be promoted enough.

These people need to be prosecuted not only for fraud but for IRS violations for blatantly selling goods using the word "donations" as a code word for "buying" goods and services and making tax free profits.

Their wealth would pay for the health care of many actually poor and unfortunate human beings.

I was 13 when To Kill A Mockingbird was released. I saw it three times in a row on a Saturday by

hiding in the restrooms of the theater during the screenings. This was during a time when a theater showed one movie at a time and blacks sat in the balcony. I cried each time I saw it. I actually came back and saw it several times again that week. I lived in a southern town that was full of racists. I was not biased and often bullied because I was white and thought racism was horrible. I would some times sneak up into the balcony to watch movies as my own little protest. I also read the book at that time. It affected me so profoundly and the effect was so exhilarating it made me adamantly anti racist to the point of verbally engaging racists and expressing my opinions to friends and relatives. It is today the core of me not to give racists even a moment of the short time I have left on this earth. Life is too short.

( Edited to add: Even the opening credits with the beautiful music would make me cry and I'm considered one of those guys that never sheds a tear.)

If our government was not wholly owned by the fascist corporate machine I may agree with Thom.

The SCOTUS 'installed' George W. Bush as President so they 'can' control the Presidency. They control the Presidency all the time. Example: Declaring a corporation as an individual with individual rights subverts elections with amounts of money no regular individual can produce to impact an election. Unconstitutional voter suppression is going on as I write this. I Have read the Constitution and apparently some of the US Supreme Court members have not. Scalia says it is just a piece of paper. It does not matter what is written in the Constitution if the Senate, Congress and the President ignore it and subvert it. War crimes and treason committed by past federal officials goes unpunished. Endangering the nation's security because financial institutions can rob the people of billions and bankrupt them because they can't pay for health care and go unpunished tells me that people in power with university educations have not and refuse to read or uphold the Constitution. Apparently they have become smart enough and rich enough not to give a rats rear end what We the People think or want. There are no more 'checks and balances' no matter how much Thom Hartman quotes Thomas Jefferson. The check that matters is the one corporations use to buy subversion of our freedom.

"Playing the race card" has become the clarion call for racists to do nothing more than

prevent the subject of racism from even being brought up. Just like the "politically correct" meme.

There is nothing wrong with being "politically correct". Being politically wrong can be deadly.

There is nothing wrong with "playing the race card" to point out racism. Ignoring racism can be deadly.

I prefer life and equality for me and everyone else.

So the Police Chief gets a vacation with pay when his direct reports do not arrest a killer.

It must be good to be Chief. I guess Trayvon Martin didn't have the right to stand his ground.

We are living in a country that allows war criminals to run it, bankers to rob it and killers to stand their ground and kill.
I realize it takes time to change negative issues but after a while the saturation point is reached and there either a change
or the positive drowns in the overload.

My wish is that history reflects that we as a country fought back against the repressive theocratic corporate death loving fascism that is currently trying to smother our rights as human beings.

Things are getting out of hand in our country.

I have been reading, hearing seeing and witnessing many disturbing things regarding the rights we as Americans have had for decades and centuries being dismantled in a subversive yet obvious manner. Subversive and obvious sound like contradictions but when ignorant people are trying to destroy something created by people with high I.Q's they expose their ignorance. I predict there will be an obvious reaction, be it legal, peaceful, and possibly violent to the degradation of common rights to all people in America. We better get ready and be aware because the right wing is in all out assault mode. If anyone thinks I'm exaggerating all you need to do is read American history or world history. We are not immune to the common experiences of mankind. History repeats itself like it or not. I have been on the planet long enough to have personally witnessed the things I've mentioned and I'm sure I'm not the only one on DU that has.

Was it God's will that Andrew Breitbart died?

I am not advocating any religious belief just wondering what the Christians who believe in predestination think of this question.

I personally believe in free will from a spiritual perspective. Philosophically speaking, from a atheist's perspective, free will is an obvious concept.

If it is God's will, then the right wing evangelicals who idolized Breitbart must be really questioning why God would want Breitbart to die.

Considering the Christian Bible says idolatry is a sin that could be a double whammy?

The Komen and Planned Parenthood funding argument on the news talk shows is an excercise in futility

The talking heads on MSNBC and CNN apparently have no sense of discernment. They have guests on there shows that continually say, "I don't want my tax payer dollars going to abortion" or "I'm donating to fight breast cancer not help abortion doctors."

Number one. I didn't want my tax dollars to go to the illegal war in Iraq or any other unnecessary war. If we each had the right to specifically say where our individual tax dollars 'can' and 'can't' be used the federal government would be even more of a bureaucratic behemoth than it is now. It would be chaotic. If these right wing tea bagging theocrats succeed in not wanting their money going to abortion then I do not want my money going to war, executions, private corporations or torture.

I have yet to hear a talking head with two brain cells to rub together make that argument. Either they want the right wing to win the argument or they have no sense of civics as to how taxes are allocated.

Number two. Regarding the Komen situation, the right wing is equating charity with taxes. They say because you are able to claim a deduction to charity on your taxes that means your tax dollars are going to abortion. One thing the right wing has down to a science is stretching credulity.

The comparison of President Obama by the GOP with the cruise ship captain is ridiculous, but,

there is a more appropriate comparison to the cruise ship captains actions.

George W. Bush sat in an elementary school class reading My Pet Goat while 3,000 people were incinerated on American soil under his watch.

After that he was hiding so he couldn't be attacked as was Cheney who hid out in a undisclosed location. After that the country went down hill and attacked a country that had no reason to be attacked thus damaging the US economy. Bush did zip while the Ship of State sank into a dark financial pit.

If there is 'any' comparison that is appropriate to the cruise ship captain's actions it is George Bush on 9/11 and the years that followed. It was a totally avoidable historic occurrence. Bush ignored intelligence just like the ship captain ignored danger to the cruise ship.
