Pomp(eo)ASS always reminds me of an overinflated balloon.

He didn’t change my thoughts tonight.

Anybody got a stick pin?

Dejoy just said he isn't reinstalling dismantled machines.

Trump’s repeatedly said the Postal Service can’t handle mail in ballots and yet he’s reduced capacity.

Illinois has had 13 mail sorting machines removed. The sortation capability lost is approximately 1/2 million pieces of mail every hour; 4 million pieces per 8 hour shift and 8 million fewer pieces a day over two shifts.

Dejoy: Late trips dropped from 3500 to 600 a day

Yeah ... without mail on them.

What’s the point of on-time trips if the trips are empty?

The missing mail on those trips = missing revenue = the demise of the organization.

Obama basically said Trump's balls never dropped

“... I never expected that my successor would embrace my vision or continue my policies. I did hope, for the sake of our country, that Donald Trump might show some interest in taking the job seriously; that he might come to feel the weight of the office and discover some reverence for the democracy that had been placed in his care.

But he never did. For close to four years now, he's shown no interest in putting in the work; no interest in finding common ground; no interest in using the awesome power of his office to help anyone but himself and his friends; no interest in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves.

Donald Trump hasn't grown into the job because he can't. ..”

Why is the Republican controlled Senate releasing damning Russia evidence

now?

They’ve sat on everything else so why this and why now?

It seems like an effort to undermine the DNC. The timing couldn’t be more suspect. And, as damning as the report might be they already excused Trump.

"We'll hear from Bernie Sanders who represents the left wing of the Democratic Party" ...

Savannah Guthrie just now.

I get so tired of their BS.

The Postal Service delivered stimulus letters and checks to Americans without a hitch.

Trump’s lying when he says they need more money to handle mail in ballots.

They’re equipped to handle mailings to all Americans at the drop of a dime ... or at least they were before being sabotaged by Trump.

I am a retired postal manager

I managed large metropolitan area operations overseeing more than 150 employees daily and delivering mail to tens of thousands of customers.

I spent countless sleepless nights and 12-hour-plus workdays getting the mail out in the face of incessant obstacles. Ultimately, daily I met the goal on schedule and reliably living by our motto: Every piece every day.

To hear that Trump’s guy has dismantled in just two months what I and many devoted decades to is alarming. After seeing my own mail slow down I talked to former coworkers/friends. In TX, a postmaster says her boss calls Trump’s guy Dejoy, “a business man”. A former supervisor I talked to parrots the same phrase. Many have no idea of the political ramifications of this appointment.

(The USPS is a cash cow. If destroyed, billions have been set aside 75 years in advance of retirements of 500,000 employees. This could easily fall into Republican hands. Dejoy just added $10 billion more debt in the last two weeks making them even more vulnerable and destroying one of the largest unions in America if destruction succeeds.)

Then, I read that million-dollar machines that sort 36,000 pieces of mail per hour are being turned off now in favor of manual labor. And I am floored. It’s like a bank removing all ATMS and insisting that all money be counted by hand. It’s not hard to see that cutting down automation will increase the manual workload a hundred fold—but simultaneously cutting overtime reduces the man hours needed for the quadrupled manual workload. There’s not enough square footage to house the impending backup of mail that will result from these “business“ decisions.

I have spent most of the year telling everybody I know to plan to vote by mail — until May when I first heard about Trump’s appointment.

I will not be voting by mail now. It’s a huge loss of revenue for the Postal Service if I, and many others don’t vote by mail. I don’t want to hurt the Postal Service but I care more about not hurting America with a too-risky vote. I do suggest, however, continuing to patronize them in every possible way whether you mail your vote or not.

All I know is that I hope that we can quickly regroup and rethink how we plan to GOTV under these new circumstances.
