Scientist Debate Origin of Coronavirus.. CNN:

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/06/us/coronavirus-scientists-debate-origin-theories-invs/index.html

(CNN) — A vacuum of knowledge about the origins of the new coronavirus ravaging the world has provided fertile ground for all manner of theories -- from the fantastic, to the dubious to the believable.

It was a bioweapon manufactured by the Chinese. The US Army brought the virus to Wuhan. It leaked -- like a genie out of a bottle -- from a lab in an accident. It took root at a wildlife market in Wuhan.

Scientists have banded together across international borders to condemn the nationalist-tinged conspiracy theories. And yet, they are divided on what was once widely thought the most likely culprit: a so-called wet market in Wuhan, where wild animals are kept in cages and sold as pets or food. It is believed that a bat-infected animal -- perhaps a pangolin -- infected the first human.

The truth of how this began remains elusive. But CNN spoke to more than half a dozen virus experts about the origins of the outbreak, and all of them say anyone who claims to know the source of Covid-19 is guessing. The scientists say there is zero evidence the Chinese or American government purposefully introduced the new coronavirus -- SARS-CoV-2 -- to the public.

To date, one thing seems likely: It came from bats

It's "the most simple, obvious and likely explanation," said Dr. Simon Anthony, a professor at the public health grad school of Columbia University and a key member of PREDICT, a federally funded global program investigating viruses in animal hosts with pandemic potential. PREDICT has discovered 180 coronaviruses over a decade.

Though the scientists discount conspiracy theories about bioweapons, on other questions they are divided.

The experts are at odds over the once widely accepted theory that the virus originated at a wet market.

Trump's handling of virus events are indeed impeachable offenses.

..Of course, that won't happen, and Trump will be defeated in November. But the republicans had a chance to remove Trump, and didn't. Maybe Pence would have handled this differently. We will never know, but could anyone handled this worse? Pence probably would have had a better take on initial information. And not acted as ridiculous as Donald Trump, saying such stupid things like: "We got it under control." (note: I said, maybe)

Why Donald Trump's firing of the Intelligence Community IG is so, so egregious:

Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large
Updated 10:02 AM ET, Mon April 6, 2020

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/06/politics/michael-atkinson-firing/index.html

CNN: — President Donald Trump fired Michael Atkinson, the inspector general of the intelligence community, late on a Friday night amid the coronavirus pandemic in hopes that you wouldn't know what he did. Or you'd note it in passing, and then quickly move on to other pressing worries like, well, the coronavirus and its impact on the US economy.

You absolutely should not do either of those things. Because, while the removal of the intelligence community's watchdog is less obviously urgent in your own life than coronavirus, the mentality that informs the decision to remove Atkinson is hugely corrosive to our American system of government.

Let's go through the basics.

On Friday night -- the favored night for politicians to dump their worst news -- Trump announced he had fired Atkinson.

"As is the case with regard to other positions where I, as President, have the power of appointment ... it is vital that I have the fullest confidence in the appointees serving as inspectors general," Trump wrote in a letter to the House and Senate Intelligence committees informing them of the move. "That is no longer the case with regard to this Inspector General."

At issue was Atkinson's decision last fall to inform Congress that a whistleblower complaint had been filed to his office about the Trump administration. That complaint eventually turned into the basis for the House impeachment investigation into Trump's July 2019 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky -- and Trump's eventual impeachment by the House. (He was later acquitted in the Senate.)

...A simple explanation on why Trump continues the lies and B.S.

..Trump has gotten away with it in the past, and thinks he can get away with it again. Like the Con Artist who cons some seniors out of life savings, and moves on to another city with the money and tries again. If he is not caught and punished ,he will do it again and again and again until he is caught.
..People around Trump have been caught and go to jail, but not Trump. His lawyer of many years, Michael Cohen, is right now sitting in the slammer serving time. I recall Trump made fun of Cohen as he pleaded for mercy from the court. Trump knows no limits and goes as far as he can. Right now his former lawyer is in jail, and guess who the President of the United States?
...Donald Trump was impeached, and he is still the president. But November is coming, and in November he will lose. Why? He has lied about this pandemic, and those lies have killed lots of people. He continues to lie, and thinks he can still get away with it. The lies are there for anyone to see. It is a spot called You Tube. Everyone can see them.
...If someone doesn't have a computer or phone that is a computer, then a friend has one. Everyone knows about the lies that have killed people, and the Trump name is already shit. (apologies to farmers who use manure and manure lovers.) Today there was a post about a brother on a website that was a Trump fan, but is not one anymore. Trump will not get away with this. People tell their children not to lie, and Trump has lied about everything.
.. The name Trump will go down as the worst president ever. He could do one thing that could save some of his reputation. That one thing is resign tomorrow. Donald Trump will not resign. Maybe, but not likely. After all he still gets away with the lies, and he thinks he will win in November, but he will not in November. Proof you ask..? Go to the website Democratic Underground ,and look around for the post about someone who has a brother that is no longer a Trump fan, and now will vote for the Democratic Candidate. That ex Trump fan represents millions who are doing exactly the same thing. Thank You for reading this.....
