Biden stretches lead to 17 points in Texas

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s lead in Texas grew to 17 points ahead of his closest Democratic presidential primary competitor in the state, according to a new poll.

Biden is leading with 35 percent support, based on the Dallas Morning News-University of Texas at Tyler poll released Sunday.

He has a 17-point lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who registered at 18 percent in the poll. Biden’s lead over Sanders was only 9 points in polls conducted by the Texas university in September and November.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is tied for third with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, each registering at 16 percent support, based on the poll. Bloomberg, a billionaire self-financing his campaign, has been focusing on Super Tuesday states, including Texas, after opting to skip the first four nominating contests which his opponents are campaigning in.

As Clinton slams Sanders, he tries to restrain his supporters

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Hillary Clinton has been leveling attacks on Sen. Bernie Sanders as he gains steam heading into the Iowa caucuses, prompting him to try to quell the conflict and manage his more combative supporters who are inclined to hit back.

The strains were on vivid display Friday and Saturday as Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), a top Sanders surrogate, booed a mention of Clinton’s name onstage at a campaign event. Hours later, she expressed regret for her behavior — leading Sanders’s campaign manager to send her a supportive message on social media: “Rashida, you’re all good.”

This raises the prospect that the primary could plunge into darker territory in coming weeks, as Clinton appears determined to warn her party that Sanders is not the unifier they need and his backers respond with fury. And that is alarming Democrats who say the party must set aside its divisions to defeat President Trump in the fall.

“I’m not really on board with the in-house Democratic bickering,” said Joshua Fox, 44, a Sanders supporter who attended a campaign event here for the senator on Saturday. “I think we need to get together.”

That sentiment was echoed on Twitter by Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), who wrote, “It is 2020 not 2016 so please everyone act accordingly.” He added in a second tweet, “Also, I mean EVERYONE.”

Prediction: Elizabeth Warren wins the Iowa Caucus

Undecided progressives will be attracted to Warren's unity message. I don't know who will place second but I expect nonviable moderate votes to go to Biden making ti close between Biden and Sanders.

I'm probably wrong, but I'm getting 2004 vibes.

James Gunn Is Getting Death Threats Over Rocket's Fate In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

James Gunn did the near-impossible. He made a movie from a largely unheard-of comic book story about a group of a-holes that included the likes of a talking tree and raccoon to the soundtrack of ‘70s music. And the audience got completely behind it. There’s a ton of reasons why it shouldn’t have worked, but Guardians of the Galaxy has become one of the most iconic movies to come out of the MCU. So much so, fans are threatening the writer/director about Rocket’s fate in the third movie.

The Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker seems to have a blast speaking with his fans over Twitter. On Friday, he took to Twitter to give fans some insight about how his 2002 Scooby-Doo script used to be way “edgier” than the theatrical cut of the live-action film. Now, he’s trying to joke around a bit with his Twitter death threats.

One user showed his love for Rocket Raccoon by telling James Gunn that he’s going to die if Bradley Cooper’s character does in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. With a bit of sarcastic wit, Gunn explained that he’s going to die either way… because we’re all going to die. So does it really matter if he kills off Rocket?

The DM Register poll mistake was pretty bad.

An interviewee noticed that the survey taker did not mention Buttigieg's name and it appears that his name was missing from one or more survey sheets.
