Why Crypto Bros Want Biden to Fuck Up the Economy
And of course, thats where we run into issues. Along with anti-vaccine sentiment on the right, some groups want the economy to fail under President Joe Biden no matter what. Two groups in particular: conservatives and crypto bros.
Wolfers explains: If they could make the case that the value of the American dollar is falling apart, then the value of their personal portfolios is going to rise enormously. And its not that surprising that the first person to use the word hyperinflation was [Twitter CEO] Jack Dorsey, who also is deep in crypto.
Plus! Sarah Longwell, CEO of Longwell Partners and publisher of The Bulwark, teaches Molly about the Republican Triangle of Doom and why she thinks former President Donald Trump has a strong chance of securing his partys 2024 presidential nomination.

Michigan woman pleads guilty after trying to have ex-husband killed through fake 'Rent-A-Hitman' sit
SOUTH ROCKFORD, Mich. (FOX 2) - A Michigan woman could spend up to nine years in prison for trying to get her ex-husband killed.
Wendy Lynn Wein, 52, of South Rockford, used a fake website called "Rent-A-Hitman" to try to solicit the murder of her former husband on July 17, 2020. She used a pseudonym but entered her real information at the end of her "service request."
However, the "Rent-A-Hitman" domain was created as a cyber-security test site. The website's owner contacted Michigan State Police, who contacted Wein posing as someone from the website.
An undercover detective met with Wein at a cafe, where she said she wanted to have her ex murdered. She gave the detective his home address, work address, and work schedule.
She also said she would pay $5,000 for the murder. At a second meeting that same day, she gave the detective $200 as a downpayment.

Joe Rogan is known for a lot of different things. The 54-year-old is a comedian, a former TV host, a UFC color commentator, and one of the worlds highest-paid podcasters. Lately hes been well-known for saying dumb things about the coronavirus vaccine, being corrected by a doctor on his show and Dr. Anthony Fauci, and admitting that he is not a doctor, but, by his own admission, a moron. After that rollercoaster, the unvaccinated Rogan contracted the coronavirus and decided to treat it with a dangerous kitchen sink regimen. Most recently, Covid-positive quarterback Aaron Rodgers described asking Rogan for treatment advice. (This is all separate from Rogan's history of spreading transphobic hate speech.)
All of which pales next to the one weird trick Rogan recently revealed on his podcast: The man can suck his own dick. Or he could. If he wanted to.
Im super flexible. Ive never done itbut Ive put it around my face just to know I could do it, Rogan said, according to The New York Post. Apparently, its another boundary Rogan wanted to push, seeing if he could, in fact, engage in that other sport of kings, auto-fellatio.
Its not a particularly new or clever jokein 1994, Clerks included a line about an uncle dying trying to cross that line of self-love; around the same time, Dennis Miller described being tempted to buy an adjustable bed just to see if he could make it work. And there were those rumors about terrible person Marilyn Manson having a rib removed.

Britney Spears' Conservatorship Terminated After 13 Years, Finally Giving Freedom to Pop Star
Britney Spears conservatorship has been terminated after 13 years, a California court has determined.
Fridays hearing marked the most pivotal hearing for the star, who has been living under a court-ordered conservatorship that her father Jamie Spears placed her under in 2008. Around that time, the singer had endured a series of public pitfalls that were heavily covered by the tabloids.
But, over the years, circumstances changed. The singer continued to work, touring and holding a Las Vegas residency, bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars. And yet, she remained under conservatorship. As her worldwide fans began to wonder of her whereabouts and best interest, rumors spread online that Spears was being held against her will, and the #FreeBritney movement was born.
It wasnt until just months ago that things began to change for the star, who has seen more movement in her conservatorship case in the second half of 2021, than she has in more than a decade.

Rep. Karen Bass received USC scholarship worth $95,000 while in Congress
he House Committee on Ethics cleared Bass request to accept the USC School of Social Work tuition award, ultimately valued at over $95,000.
Bass, the Los Angeles Democrat, has frequently spoken of how she juggled the demands of an online masters program during her first three terms in Congress. She graduated in 2015 and credits the USC program with deepening her understanding of child welfare policy and helping her become a national advocate for foster youth.
How she got the scholarship offers a window into the lengths USC has gone to forge bonds with local politicians, a practice that is now facing new scrutiny.
