Is it LGBT, or GLBT?

While it's listed as LGBT here on DU, I've been to many discussions in CA and MI where where the term GLBT is used. I know it's not an earth shattering issue, but I do want to get it right.

Democrats win two big victories in Oklahoma special elections, including first GLBT state senator.

Democrat Curtis McDaniel picks up a very red State House district that gave Obama 26% of the vote. Democrat Al McAffrey becomes OK's first openly gay state senator.

Rampant fraud uncovered in Maine Caucus.

1. Vote counts were altered by state party official on Saturday night.
2. Towns were left unreported.
3. Washington County caucus was cancelled BY THE STATE PARTY CHAIR.
4. A accurate would probably put Paul ahead.

The Romney good will does not extend beyond George in Michigan.

My mom's side of the family is as deep blue as you can get. But the relatives old enough say that George Romney did a good job as Governor of Michigan. To this day, it's hard to find anyone who will say anything negative against George. But the good name never extended beyond that. Willard's brother, Scott failed to get the Republican nomination in 1994 and daughter-in-law Ronna lost badly to Carl Levin in 1996. so while Willard may win the Michigan primary, don't expect his family name to mean much in November.

Romney Backer Attacks Santorum For Same Votes He Cast Himself

The Romney campaign did just that when they dispatched former Sen. JIm Talent (R-MO) to attack Rick Santorum’s budget-busting vote to add a Medicare prescription drug program in the Senate. The problem they quickly ran into was that Talent voted the same way.

In a call with reporters, Talent slammed Santorum for his Medicare Part D vote, calling it a “big expansion of a federal entitlement.” Asked by a reporter how he could criticize Santorum for taking the same position, Talent offered up only a general defense of his tenure in the Senate.
“I’d be happy, if I was running against Rick, to compare my record to his because I think it’s stronger in a whole lot of respects,” he said. “But he’s running against Governor Romney and the point is that Mitt Romney has a whole lot more comprehensively conservative record than Rick does.”

Medicare wasn’t the only awkward note for Talent. As the same reporter noted in the call, Talent also voted for a bill containing the infamous “Bridge to Nowhere” earmark that the Romney campaign is going after Santorum on this week.

700 Club personality accused of stealing husband’s porn

Tamara Lowe, a frequent guest on “The 700 Club” and author of the book Get Motivated, and her husband Peter are in the midst of an acrimonious divorce that just got uglier: in court documents, Peter accused Tamara and her new boyfriend of stealing his porn.

According to south Florida website Gossip Extra, the Christian motivation speaker and her spouse are on the verge of closing their marriage of 24 years.

In a motion filed to the court, Peter Lowe claimed Tamara’s new boyfriend and two other men stole items from his Miami house while he was in Las Vegas, including porn videos. Other items reported as missing include photos, five laptops, a desktop and boxes of documents. Lawyers from Tamara Lowe claimed that their client returned all of her husband’s items.

The couple developed a $100 million business based on Tamara Lowe’s best selling book Get Motivated. The book’s success led to them to create “Get Motivated Seminars” and secure guests such as former First Lady Laura Bush and former Secretary of State Colin Powell to speak at their events.

Maine GOP failed to count communities that voted DURING caucus period.

However, a review of the town-by-town results released Saturday by the Maine GOP suggests that some communities that had caucused prior to Feb. 11 were not counted. Nearly all Waldo County towns held caucuses on Feb. 4 but those towns were blank in the results released by the state party. Additionally, Waterville held its caucuses ahead of time but were not included in the results.

Waldo County GOP Chairman Raymond St. Onge said the results were sent to the state party on Tuesday, Feb. 7. He said those results probably would not have changed the outcome but was disheartened the votes were not included.

As of early Tuesday afternoon, St. Onge said he had not received an answer from the Maine GOP on why Waldo County’s results were omitted.

Maine GOP Chairman Charlie Webster said Monday that including all caucus votes likely would not change the outcome of the state’s preference poll. Asked whether the party would consider updating the result to include all communities, he said that is up to the state party committee, which meets next month.

Wife of SF Sheriff agrees to testify in domestic violence case, will seek immunity.

After repeatedly denouncing the misdemeanor domestic violence charges against her husband in public and refusing to talk to investigators, San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi's wife now intends to testify at his upcoming trial, her attorney says.

"Of course my client is going to cooperate," said Paula Canny, the attorney for Eliana Lopez.

How much Lopez says on the stand, however, will depend on whether the district attorney will grant her immunity, Canny said.......

Canny's fear is that if Lopez testifies without immunity - and says, for example, that the couple did indeed have a loud, physical fight - she could be hit with a child endangerment charge because the boy was there at the time.
